Tottenham beat Chelsea 3-1 in the Premier League on Saturday, Nov. 24. Here are all the highlights from the match.

Tottenham thrashed Chelsea 3-1 at Wembley on Saturday, putting in by far their best performance of the season so far to secure a much-needed win against a fellow member of the big six.

Chelsea seemed caught off guard by the intensity of Tottenham press in the opening stages, and could have fallen behind earlier than they eventually did, in the eighth minute, Dele Alli heading in Christian Eriksen’s free-kick from close range.

Heung-min Son looked particularly dangerous and had two chances to double Spurs’ lead, but skied from close range in the 10th minute and was denied by a strong Kepa Arrizabalaga save in the 13th minute.

Still, Tottenham didn’t have to wait long for their second, which came from the right boot of Harry Kane in the 16th minute. Kane took his shot early, which seemed to wrongfoot Kepa as it went in at the near post.

The goal was somewhat controversial, after Eden Hazard was denied a penalty minutes before, from which Chelsea could have leveled the score, but on the balance of play, a 2-0 lead was well deserved.

Chelsea saw more of the ball after halftime, but that was mostly a result of the fact Tottenham had dropped off, happy to cede territory and play on the counter-attack, a tactic which proved just as dangerous as the pressing they did in the first half.

The scored their third goal in the 54th minute. Son finally got on the scoresheet after missing so many chances in the first half, beating Jorginho down the line before turning inside David Luiz and finishing into the bottom corner.

If there was any hope of a Chelsea fightback, the third goal effectively ended it. Maurizio Sarri brought on Ross Barkley, Olivier Giroud and Pedro in an effort to chase the game, and Giroud pulled on back late on, but it was only a consolation.
