Fantasy Basketball Picks – DFS Player Pool for Early Slate 11/25/18
By David Ramos
Welcome to what is a Fantasy Basketball player pool for GPP entries entry on both Draftkings and FanDuel. We have a 2 game early slate to dive in to with tons of potential and opportunity. Be sure to follow me on twitter @dfsenchilada for injury updates, Q&A, and final Fantasy Basketball Picks thoughts before lock. And now on to our pool…
As typical on these 2 game Fantasy Basketball slates, there is a lot of higher salaried and lower salaried players without much to offer in the middle. The player pool is really condensed and the Fantasy Basketball Picks chalk will be very highly owned, usually in the 75 to 90 percent range.even mid tier guys will have a 25 to 35 percent ownership and sometimes as high as 50 percent.
It is important to differentiate, be counter-intuitive, when putting together a roster. These slates typically find a play that is less than 5 percent owned and will hit 8x or more value – this is where we will take advantage. While I am not a fan of using a core and filling in with high floor value, this is the slate to do it on.
This afternoon slate features 2 games, both with 8 point spreads – the Magic at the Lakers (-8) and then the Suns at the Pistons (-8.5). One of the first things I notice is that the Suns have a rebound differential of -5.17 while the Pistons own a +3.31. This is a great area of opportunity and immediately Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond become must plays. Drummond has a 25.5 total rebound percentage which is the percentage of available rebounds grabbed while on the court.
On the other side of the ball, Devin Booker and TJ Warren are the primary targets against the Pistons but I am going to look more at Trevor Ariza. In his 3 games back, he has logged 41,36, and 40 minutes with and average of almost 30 fantasy points per game. He is only 4700 on Fanduel and should see a lot of minutes once again and be able to exceed 6x value.
In the Magic/Lakers game we know the main players – LeBron James, Nikola Vucevic, and Aaron Gordon. The Lakers are allowing the 10th most points per game in the league at 113 but since giving up 130 points at Orlando last week, they beat Miami 113-97, Cleveland 109-105 and Utah 90-83, allowing an average of 95 points. LeBron did not perform too well last time out versus the Magic and I expect they find a better way for him to be more involved as they try to limit the damage from Vucevic.
