Mains Mavericks – Week 12 DraftKings NFL GPP Salary Savers
Mains Mavericks – Week 12 DraftKings NFL GPP Salary Savers
Main’s Mavericks is providing weekly Draftkings NFL DFS GPP contest advice by searching out low-salary, boom-or-bust plays destined to outperform value. As a general rule for this article, I target players below $5,000. My goal is to pick value plays who I believe can exceed 4-5 times their value (EX: $5,000 player x 4 = 20DK Pts). I will be using all of my picks in Week 12 DraftKings NFL GPP tournaments as boom-or-bust punt options. Saving on these volatile players will allow you to pay-up for superstars when building that Week 12 DraftKings NFL $1,000,000 lineup.
Week 12 DraftKings NFL DFS GPP Salary Savers
Ryan Tannehill 4,800 @ IND
Tannehill will be overlooked this week in his first week back from injury. Tanny hasn’t played since week 5, nursing a bum shoulder. If you want a leverage play, Tanny is the perfect option. He will undoubtedly go overlooked, but he is going up against a poor Indy D. Additionally, Tanny will Be matched up against Andrew Luck, forcing him to match Luck touchdown for touchdown. This is going to be a shootout, and I’ll roll with Adam Gase’s guy. My only delima starting Tanny is what WR I should stack him with.
LeSean McCoy 4,200 vs JAX
Just too cheap for a guy who looked to fit perfectly with Matt Barkley in week 10. Josh Allen is back, but I still like Shady’s value. Jacksonville is no slouch against the run, but nothing to avoid just because of matchup. McCoy is an electric back who can break the big one any time he touches the ball. All he needs is one long run to hit value.
Josh Adams 3,800 vs NYG
Adams will be a trendy play this week. That salary is far too low for my expectations of his production. Adams appeared to be the only Eagles RB who could hit a hole last week. The 6’2” 225lb rookie is as close of a comp to Jay Ajayi as Philly is going to find. The way this offensive line is set up, north/south runners like Ajayi/Adams are set up to succeed. Adams will gash this porous NYG front 7.

Michael Crabtree 4,600 vs OAK
Rematch against his former team. Crabtree is the type of guy who that means more to than your average NFLer. We all know he doesn’t like to be disrespected, and not signing Crabtree was a disrespectful move by the Raiders.
Curtis Samuel 3,800 vs SEA
Samuel is getting a ton of work in the Carolina Panthers offense. He has had 15 targets the past 3 weeks, and has big play written all over him. The 2nd year WR works mainly out of the slot, and is known for his speed and quickness. The Seattle secondary has been questionable since losing Earl Thomas. They will have their hands full on Sunday.
Chris Herndon 2,900 vs NEP
Herndon has put up more than 6 fantasy points in each game since week 6. The rookie 4th round pick is a red zone favorite. It never hurts to have a 6’4” safety blanket lined up inside the numbers. Herndon is overlooked due to the volatility of the Jets offense, but we all know that the Jets will be throwing the ball a lot this Sunday. The Patriots are pretty darn good, so Josh McCown will be forced to air it out early and often to keep pace with Brady and Belly.
