Fantasy football owners must target these 10 running backs as sleepers this week, with Baltimore Ravens rookie Gus Edwards being a possible breakout star down the stretch.

In Week 11, the Baltimore Ravens won a key AFC North matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals behind a dominant running game. With Joe Flacco injured, the Ravens received 100 rushing yards from rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson and an even bigger game on the ground from UDFA running back Gus Edwards, who headlines this week’s 10 fantasy football sleepers at the running back positions.

Edwards, of course, isn’t the only running back worth keeping an eye on. Aaron Jones, Philip Lindsay, and Peyton Barber were all young backs with big Week 11 performances, too, with Barber entrenching himself as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lead back.

10. Gus Edwards, Baltimore Ravens vs. Oakland Raiders

It doesn’t get any easier for Edwards, who gets to take on one of the NFL’s worst teams in Week 12 as he seeks an encore performance. Edwards came from nowhere to produce 115 rushing yards and a touchdown on just 17 carries against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he could be capable of so much more against an Oakland Raiders defense that allows 142.3 rushing yards per game, second-worst to only the Bengals.

The reason Edwards could have an even bigger fantasy game against Oakland, though, is the possible increase in workload. Edwards showed what he can do with 17 carries, and it’s possible he could earn even more in Week 12. Alex Collins can vulture short-yardage plays, but Edwards looks far more talented than either Collins or Javorius Allen.

Meanwhile, trade acquisition Ty Montgomery probably won’t be a big factor after earning zero touches in his first appearance with the team last week. This is Edwards’s show, and the Raiders shoddy linebackers will likely be victimized by the Rutgers product.
