AEK face Ajax at Athens Olympic Stadium on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
After four games, Ajax are closing in on a spot in the round of 16 ahead of their game against AEK Athens. Ajax will advance with a win over AEK or a Benfica loss to Bayern Munich. While AEK cannot advance to the knockout stage, they can finish third and advance to the Europa League if they win their remaining two games.
AEK have lost all four of their Champions League games, failing to score in three games. In the previous game against Ajax, the Dutch side won 3-0 with Nicolas Tagliafico scoring twice. AEK have dropped to seventh in the Greek league after losing their last two games. Viktor Klonaridis and Ezequiel Ponce will play key roles for the Greek side against Ajax. The two players have combined for 11 goals in all competitions this season.
Ajax are second in the group with eight points, following their 1-1 draw with Benfica in Lisbon. Erik ten Hag’s team have won seven straight Eredivisie games, conceding only one goal but are still second in the table. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has been rejuvenated since returning to Ajax last season. This season, Huntelaar has scored 12 goals this season and will lead the attack for Ajax along with Dusan Tadic and David Neres.
