High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Lonzo Ball (at DEN – $5,600): Needs 25.8 fantasy points. Lonzo has been serviceable in his last handful of games, which is better than nothing. The scoring isn’t exactly there and the assists are almost non-existent, but he’s rebounding the ball very well. And you count “assists that happened because Lonzo exists,” then Lonzo is the greatest DFS player ever. He always seems to play well against the Nuggets, averaging 41.7 fantasy points in his last five games against them. Diagnosis: Reliable at the moment and a matchup he’s proven against.

Dwyane Wade (vs ATL – $5,300): Needs 24 fantasy points. Wade had 52.75 fantasy points against the Raptors on Nov. 25. The Heat keep losing guards by the game, which means Wade will have to do more. The matchup is good as the Hawks are not good. Wade typically gets the minutes to at least give you value. Diagnosis: Reliable option, good matchup, high ceiling.

Cory Joseph (at PHO – $4,600): Needs 21.2 fantasy points. Joseph was down to 21.75 fantasy points on Monday against the Jazz. Darren Collison outperformed him in that game, but Joseph has been the better bet in recent weeks. Collison may have the higher ceiling since he runs with the starters, but I’m going to trust Joseph to have a bounce-back game given the matchup. Diagnosis: Reliable at this salary and a good ceiling.
