8. Temple Owls (American Athletic Conference) 8-4

Temple holds on to their ranking at eight after a 57-7 beatdown of UConn. The Owls scored in all three phases–offense, defense and special teams. Six different players scored touchdowns against the historically-inept Husky defense.

The team ran for more than 300 yards, with nine players getting at least one carry. Jeremy Jennings led the team with 60 yards on only four rushes.

Connecticut-native Isaiah Wright was the only player that scored multiple times for Temple, with an 18-yard run and 99-yard kick return, both in the first quarter.

Quarterback Anthony Russo, the starter for most of the season, did not play in the blowout due to a right-hand injury. Leading rusher Ryquell Armstead left the game with an ankle injury in the second quarter. The team hopes both are available for the bowl game.

Up next: Bowl Game TBD.

7. Buffalo Bulls (Mid-American Conference) 10-2

Buffalo fell out of last week’s top ten because of a blowout loss. They jump back in the top ten this week with a blowout win. The Bulls racked up 483 yards of offense in their 44-14 win over Bowling Green in Week 13.

It was a real stampede, as four Buffalo players combined for 314 rushing yards. Emmanuel Reed led the team with 109 yards on 15 carries, Jaret Patterson (11 for 88), Kevin Marks (12 for 63), and Dylan McDuffie (8 for 54) also ran wild.

Stat of the week: the Bulls had 30 first downs in the game while the Falcons managed only six.
