Juventus face Valencia at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Juventus’ shock loss to Manchester United in the last round of games was down far more to bad luck than to a bad performance, and a draw here would still assure them of progress into the knock-out rounds with a game to spare. Of course, making it out of the group stages hasn’t been a problem in recent years — they’ve managed it every season since 2014. The reason that they spent €112 million on a certain 33-year-old over the summer is to bring the trophy home, after twice being beaten in the final during that period.
Prior to Manchester United’s lucky win over Juventus, it looked as though the clash between Valencia and United in Spain on the final matchday would decide who’d finish second in the group. That result changed things dramatically, though, and unless Valencia can pull off an unlikely win here, their chances of progressing may well have already ended before that last game kicks off.
The Spanish side have at least managed to rid themselves of the tag of Europe’s draw specialists in recent weeks after winning four of their past five games in all competitions. That run of good form has seen the likes of Santi Mina, Kevin Gameiro and Carlos Soler all getting on the scoresheet, as Valencia finally managed to translate their abundance of attacking talent into goals.
