The Los Angeles Lakers had a three-game winning streak snapped against the Magic. Now, they’ll try to restart a winning streak at the Nuggets.

The Los Angeles Lakers were beginning to get on a role before the Orlando Magic showed up at the Staples Center.

With a 108-104 loss to the Magic on Nov. 25, it snapped an impressive three-game winning streak for LeBron James and Co. Now, they’ll try to get back on the winning track tonight, when the Lakers travel to the Mile High City to face the Denver Nuggets.

After an embarrassing loss to Orlando on Nov. 17 to start a three-game East Coast trip, the Lakers won the next two at Miami and Cleveland before returning home to dispatch the disoriented Utah Jazz 90-83 on Nov. 23.

After struggling out of the gate, it seemed like the Lakers finally found a consistent winning formula; but, their second loss to the Magic in eight days showed that the team still has some bugs to fix if they want to be true contenders in a Western Conference that now seems wide open.

The Lakers are in a favorable stretch of playing six of their next seven games at home, with a four-game homestand looming after their trip to Denver. Speaking of the Nuggets, it seems as if the exact opposite has occurred to this young, exciting team.

Starting the season on a 9-1 tear, the Nuggets have come back to Earth a bit as they’ve gone 4-6 over their last 10 games. But, three of those wins have come in their last three games, with their latest being an impressive 105-98 win against the Thunder in Oklahoma City.
