November 27th: NBA DFS DraftKings Tournament Core Plays
By Chris Brent
Welcome back NBA DFS readers of Fantasy CPR! We are back with a breakdown of tonight’s 5-game slate on DraftKings. These are some of the plays that will be in my lineup tonight and where my head is on this slate as a first look. Let’s dive in.
Jamal Murray, DEN ($6,900)
Gary Harris has been out, but Jamal Murray is my favorite NBA DFS point guard on the slate, whether he plays or not tonight. Murray is shooting between 13-18 shot attempts per game even with Harris.
The Lakers defense is better, but they are still going to bleed fantasy points to opposing guards. Murray has already played the Lakers this season, scoring 40 DraftKings points in 34 minutes.
I’m expecting a huge game from Murray tonight, with or without Gary Harris tonight. Murray is my favorite point guard on the slate even at this stiff price tag.
Trey Burke ($4,700)/ Emmanuel Mudiay ($4,500)
These two are a guessing game into the mind of David Fizdale. Fizdale is going to go with whatever one is playing better. Mudiay has been the hot hand in the last two games, however I don’t mind stacking both of these guys in cash games. Between the two of them, around 55 minutes between the two of them.
At the expected salary we need around 50 fantasy points combined from these guys. I think they can get there pretty easily and then we do not have to about fading one of them. However, I will not do that in tournaments, playing both of them absolutely caps your upside.
So, in tournaments you’re going to have to take stands, looking at projected ownership percentages for tonight, I want Mudiay If Mudiay’s ownership begins to rise tonight, I will lean Trey Burke. In cash, play both, in tournaments play a decent amount of both of them.
Personally, I am leaning Trey Burke is the better play but Mudiay may be the lower owned play in this matchup.
Tyreke Evans, IND ($5,200)
I am planting a flag here, on Tyreke Evans tonight. No Oladipo, we have Evans just not getting the minutes. However, they have had some tough match-ups with Utah, Charlotte, San Antonio and Utah again.
Tonight he gets to face off against the Suns in a match-up that he can exploit. This is a game that screams ceiling game for me, but it’s definitely a scary play for me tonight. Evans has yet to play 4th quarter minutes even with Oladipo out.
However, if he is playing well enough, coaches will not be able to not have him on the floor late in the game. Evans is on my short list for plays tonight, I think the 40-50 fantasy point night is coming.
Justise Winslow, MIA ($4,200)
DraftKings have been driving down his price, and his ownership has followed suit. I think that is a huge mistake, as I think Winslow is probably the easiest play at this price on the slate for me today.
Winslow had a really horrible game against Brooklyn but outside of that he is between 25-37 minutes based on how well he is playing. I love Winslow and I think that he might go 8x and he has the upside for 10x tonight.
I expect Winslow to handle a good amount of the offense for Miami tonight, and in a match-up against the Hawks where the Hawks give up fantasy points to every single position at an alarming rate. I want the value and Winslow provides that for me.
Nikola Jokic, DEN ($8,800)
Now, this is not a contrarian take, but I will have 100% of Jokic tonight. The current projected ownership is hovering around 45% across multiple sites and I want to be massively overexposed to this spot.
The Lakers are playing well enough that the game should be able to stay close, but we have been targeting centers v. the Lakers all season and tonight should be no different. The Lakers are allowing 36.7 field goal attempts at the rim this season ,which is worst in the NBA.
Jokic is going to be the centerpiece in all of my lineups tonight in cash games and in tournaments. This spot feels like a potential 60 DraftKings point game.
Best of luck tonight, lets win the NBA DFS Tournament money!
