NFL quarterback rankings, Week 13: Philip Rivers shows out
Bart Starr Division
8. Russell Wilson (LW: 8)
Wilson and the Seahawks have to be the feel-good story of the year. The Seahawks were supposed to be one of the worst teams in the NFL after losing a litany of players including Kam Chancellor, Michael Bennett, Jimmy Graham, Sheldon Richardson, Richard Sherman and more. Instead, the Seahawks are 6-5 and fighting for a wild card berth.
7. Aaron Rodgers (LW: 5)
It’s borderline impossible to drop a guy who has 20 touchdowns and one interception, but here we are. The Packers aren’t doing Rodgers many favors with their offensive scheme, but Rodgers has also had his share of bad misses on open throws. Green Bay isn’t going to make the playoffs, something that’s almost impossible in 2018 with talent like this under center.
6. Philip Rivers (LW: 7)
Rivers set a of new record on Sunday in a 45-10 thrashing of the Cardinals. He opened the game with 25 consecutive completions, which is both the longest streak ever to begin a game and ties Ryan Tannehill and Donovan McNabb for the longest string of completions at any point (McNabb and Tannehill did that over a two-week stretch). Not bad.
5. Andrew Luck (LW: 6)
If the Colts get into the playoffs — and they could at 6-5 — Luck has to be in the MVP conversation. The former No. 1 overall pick has been brilliant, launching 32 touchdown passes, second only to Patrick Mahomes. Finally getting protection for the first time in years, Luck has been nothing short of spectacular.
