2019 NFL Mock Draft: Jaguars select Drew Lock
By Brad Weiss
The Arizona Cardinals got out to a fast start against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, as they led 10-0 in the first quarter. However, it was all Los Angeles from that point on, as they reeled off 45 straight points, sending Josh Rosen and the Cardinals to their ninth loss of the season, and keeping them in the No. 2 spot in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Rosen was the team’s first round pick this past April, as they traded up with the Oakland Raiders to select the UCLA quarterback No. 10 overall. During his rookie season, Rosen has stepped in as the starter, and has done a nice job, but he just does not have time in the pocket, and very little weapons on the outside.
With the team’s first round pick next April, they should look to add a player that can keep Rosen upright, and the best offensive tackle in this draft class is Jonah Williams from Alabama. Thanks to Williams, Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is having a monster season, and the Crimson Tide are once again the best team in college football.
Rosen is going to be a good quarterback, and it is clear they definitely got their man when they moved up to get him. However, no quarterback can succeed under the kind of pressure he faces every week, so utilizing such a high draft pick on an elite prospect at the tackle position makes a lot of sense for this franchise moving forward.
