Mains Mavericks – Week 13 DraftKings NFL GPP Salary Savers
Mains Mavericks – Week 13 DraftKings NFL GPP Salary Savers
Main’s Mavericks is providing weekly Draftkings NFL DFS GPP contest advice by searching out low-salary, boom-or-bust plays destined to outperform value. As a general rule for this article, I target players below $5,000. My goal is to pick value plays who I believe can exceed 4-5 times their value (EX: $5,000 player x 4 = 20DK Pts). I will be using all of my picks in Week 13 DraftKings NFL GPP tournaments as boom-or-bust punt options. Saving on these volatile players will allow you to pay-up for superstars when building that Week 13 DraftKings NFL $1,000,000 lineup.

Cody Kessler 4,500 vs IND
Kessler will be overlooked and under-owned this week in his first start of the season. Kessler hasn’t started a game since 2016, but that was with the Browns. Hopefully we all purged that out of our memory banks, because it wasn’t pretty. If you want a leverage play, Kessler is the perfect option. He is going up against a poor Indy D, and he actually didn’t look half bad earlier this year when Bortles was benched the 1st time. Kessler dropped 10 DK points in 2 quarters of relief. He will not have Leonard Fournette after his idiotic display of immaturity Sunday, which means that Jacksonville will be forced to throw a lot if they want to keep the score close.

TJ Yeldon 4,400 vs IND
That’s right, it’s a Jags stack! Yeldon is the ideal running back to stream this week. Yeldon will be Cody Kessler’s security blanket, giving him plenty of dump-off receptions. Plus, Yeldon will get all of the 3rd down and garbage time work. Everyone has jumped off of the sinking ship that is the Jackxonville Jaguars, so who knows, maybe it will float again.
Jalen Richard 4,300 vs KCC
I am relying on a bounce-back week for Richard, who had one of his worst performances of the year against Baltimore. Richard registered only 3.6 DK points, his lowest total since week 2. Richard is not going up against one of the best run defenses in the league this week. He draws a Kansas City squad that gives up loads of fantasy points to just about everyone that faces them. Another tremendous leverage play.
Marcell Ateman 3,600 vs KCC
I swear that I am not a Jags or a Raiders fan. Also I am not attempting to sabotage your roster by writing up a proposed stack of both teams. You’ll just have to trust me on this one. The Chiefs D is atrocious and ripe for the taking. Ateman only had 3 receptions last week, but he saw 10 targets from Derek Carr. The rookie has not done anything this year, but has 15 targets the past 2 weeks. So, ride the hot hand in a juicy matchup.
Bruce Ellington 3,500 vs LAR
Another hot hand I’m buying into is Bruce Ellington. 12 receptions on 16 targets over the past 2 weeks averaging over 10 DK points per week. That does not sound like a near minimum priced WR. The lions are a dumpster fire, but they will be throwing a lot in a home matchup with the high-octane LA Rams. Peters on Golladay means tons of targets for Ellington.
Matt LaCosse 2,500 @ CIN
If you are a faithful Mains Mavericks reader, you will know that I was perpetually streaming Jeff Heuerman. Let’s keep it going with another backup Denver TE. Minimum salary for a guy with that much pizazz is criminal. LaCosse just put up 12.4 DK points as a backup, and now he is the only healthy TE on the roster. Sign me up.
