The Los Angeles Lakers return home on Thursday to face the Indiana Pacers, and the Lakers could use some home comfort right about now.

A few days ago, the Los Angeles Lakers looked like they had found the winning formula. Now, they’re trying to finding that touch, again.

LeBron James and the Lakers will try to avoid their first three-game losing streak since opening the season 0-3 when the Indiana Pacers come to Hollywood.

Having won nine of their last 11 games before the Orlando Magic paid a visit, the Lakers (11-9) looked like they were in the beginning stages of a season-long roll. Then, they lost to the Magic. Then, they went to Denver and were blown out of the building by a high-octane Nuggets squad.

To add injury to losing, point guard Lonzo Ball sprained his ankle during the loss to the Nuggets. Already without Rajon Rondo, and without another true point guard on the roster, the aura of that winning stretch seems all but gone now, and it’s up to the team to get it back, possibly with LeBron handling most of the point guard duties if Ball is unable to go.

They’ll attempt to get that winning feeling back against the Pacers (13-8), who come into the Staples Center riding a three-game winning streak, including opening their four-game West Coast trip with back-to-back victories over the Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns.

Even more impressive is the fact that Indiana is doing it without their team leader Victor Oladipo. With Oladipo out, the rest of the Pacers have had to step up their play, and they have done that and then some. Domantass Sabonis and Doug McDermott each had 21 points, and Bojan Bogdanovic buried a late 3-pointer to allow the Pacers to escape Phoenix with a win.

The Pacers will wrap up their West Coast swing on Dec. 1 at Sacramento.
