Miami Dolphins – Will Grier, QB, West Virginia

The Dolphins appear ready to move on from the Ryan Tannehill era. While they may explore their options via trade, we’ll go with a 2019 draft prospect at the quarterback for the sake of this piece and most Dolphins fans’ sanity.

West Virginia’s Will Grier has put up video game numbers since taking over as the Mountaineers’ starting quarterback and could be a good fit in Adam Gase’s offense. While Grier isn’t one of the most impressive physical quarterbacks in the class, he has plenty of arm strength and accuracy to place balls where they need to be down the field.

Grier has thrived at West Virginia in a quick, pass-happy offense and has done everything he needed to do to prove he was one of the class’ top quarterbacks in 2018. Grier has set career highs in completion percentage, touchdowns and a career-low in interceptions. His delivery is unorthodox and he tends to struggle under pressure but, let’s be honest, there are plenty of quarterbacks in the NFL who would fit the exact same description.

Miami has had an up-and-down season but there are some nice young pieces in place that could have them just a quarterback away from being a playoff contender. Perhaps Will Grier could be that perfect fit in the Dolphins’ puzzle.
