Pittsburgh Steelers – Joe Harris, LB, Duke

The loss of Ryan Shazier has proved far more important than any loss from the Le’Veon Bell saga and the Steelers will likely be investing heavily at linebacker in the 2019 draft.

One player who could help to fill the void left by Shazier and right the struggles of the Steelers’ linebacking corps is Duke standout Joe Giles-Harris. Giles-Harris has established himself as one of the best defensive players in the ACC over the past three seasons, posting more than 80 tackles in each.

Giles-Harris possesses good length and range that should make him an every-down player at the NFL level. He’s a sound tackler who wraps up well and can cover opposing tight ends and backs in single coverage if needed. His instincts and ability to read angles also help him to be around the ball on nearly every play.

The Steelers know they have to improve their linebackers group sooner rather than later and Joe Giles-Harris is an excellent fit who should find his way into the starting lineup right away in his rookie season.
