Cardiff and Wolves were both promoted from the Championship last season. The Bluebirds have struggled in their Premier League return, sitting at or near the bottom of the table almost every week. Wolves are in the middle of the table with 16 points.

Cardiff lost 1-0 to Everton last weekend. While the Bluebirds are 19th, they have played better over their last five games, winning twice. Cardiff are also significantly better in front of their home fans, picking up seven of their eight points. The Bluebirds biggest problem has been a leaky defense that is allowing two goals per game. If Cardiff are going to avoid relegation this season, they are going to need to be better in their own end. Callum Paterson will lead the line against Wolves. Paterson leads Cardiff with three goals this season.

Wolves lost their last game 2-0 against Huddersfield. Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad have been very poor over their last five games, picking up only one point. Wolves have been good in their own end, conceding only 15 goals this season. That should continue against Cardiff’s weak attack. Ruben Neves continues to be one of the best players not on one of the big six clubs. The Portuguese midfielder can do everything in midfield and has been linked with a move to a bigger club. Wolves will hope that Neves can create some chances for Raul Jimenez, who leads the club with three goals and five assists this season.
