4. Big 12 Championship, Texas vs. Oklahoma – Over 77.5

The college football deities have smiled upon fans for the conference championships in many ways, but one of them surely comes in the form of the Big 12 Championship. Not only do we get treated to a rematch of one of the most entertaining games of the regular season, but we’re also getting another installment in the Red River Showdown as the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns go head-to-head once more in 2018.

Of course, the Longhorns ruined the Sooners’ hopes of an undefeated season in the first matchup, winning 48-45. That blemish on the record of Lincoln Riley’s team remains singular to this point in the season, though they have certainly been pushed at times. Texas, meanwhile, hit some midseason snags with losses to Oklahoma State and West Virginia, but rebounded to finish strong with three-straight wins.

Despite losing the first matchup against Texas, Oklahoma is favored by eight points in this game. However, that feels like a stayaway for me. There is no doubt a world where the Sooners come out for blood and run the Longhorns into the ground. At the same time, though, there’s a world where Texas just has their number and, at the very least, makes it close again.

While we’re staying away from the point spread, though, what is a lock in the Big 12 Championship Game is the over. These two teams aren’t the biggest fans of defense, which has been proven time and again this year, and combined for 93 points in the first meeting. With the line at 77.5 points, the over is an easy call here.
