High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,250

Russell Westbrook (vs ATL – $11,500): Needs 53.4 fantasy points. Russell Westbrook against a bad team. What could go wrong? He had 77.25 fantasy points against the Cavaliers on Nov. 28. A triple-double is always in play for Westbrook and he can carve up bad teams in a variety of ways. The salary is high, but he’ll get the numbers he needs and then some given the matchup. Diagnosis: You can confidently build around Westbrook. Unless you’re worried about the blowout. Then maybe you shouldn’t be quite as confident.

Kyrie Irving (vs CLE – $9,300): Needs 43.1 fantasy points. Kyrie had 58.25 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Nov. 26. He’s been great more often than not in recent contests and now he gets the Cavaliers. It’s not exactly a revenge game at this point, but maybe is a non-LeBron revenge game for Kyrie, who can show Cleveland what they missed by trading him when he knew LeBron was leaving. Anyway, the points will be there. Diagnosis: The only worry is a blowout.

Ben Simmons (vs WAS – $8,500): Needs 38.8 fantasy points. Simmons had 35.5 fantasy points in 24 minutes against the Knicks on Nov. 28. His minutes should be up in this one as the Wizards are better than the Knicks, at least with their offense. As long as this game is competitive, Simmons is going to light up the Wizards defense. Diagnosis: Love his salary, the matchup, and his ceiling.
