Fantasy Football: Impactful NFL DFS Injuries for Week 13
Fantasy Football: Impactful NFL DFS Injuries: Week 13
With extensive coverage of the National Football League and how it pertains to fantasy sports, information about Fantasy Football Injuries to skill position players is easy to come by.
What’s not so easy to come by is actionable fantasy information regarding injuries to non-skill position players. We’ll be exploring some of the NFL DFS Injuries and how they may help you gain an edge week to week.
Josh Bynes – LB – Cardinals
Bynes was placed on IR earlier this week with a thumb injury.
Actionable Takeaway: This is a big loss for the Cardinals as Bynes has a PFF grade of 75.8 this season. This ranks 13th among 83 qualifying linebackers. As mentioned in, “Fantasy Football Exploitable Inefficiencies: Week 13”, the running game of the Packers could feast on Sunday. I’ll be overweight on Aaron Jones this week.

Andrew Norwell – G – Jaguars
Andrew Norwell was carted of the field last Sunday, and was then placed on IR with an ankle injury.
Actionable Takeaway: This is a significant injury to note, as an already injury riddled offensive line will lose another member. Jacksonville is without their top two left tackles, their starting center, and a right guard playing through an injury. Combine that with the absence of Fournette and the backup quarterback getting the start, and I don’t expect to see the Jags putting up many points on Sunday. I’ll be targeting the Indianapolis defense on both sites this week.
David Bakhtiari – T – Packers
Bakhtiari didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday, and appears doubtful to suit up this week. He injured his left knee last week, so you’ll need to monitor his status closer to game day.
Actionable Takeaway: Bakhtiari is currently grading out as the second best tackle in the league via PFF, with a grade of 86.4. His likely replacement, Jason Spriggs, has a grade of 60.5. While this would initially appear to be a downgrade to Packers players, it could actually be an upgrade to the previously mentioned running game. Without one of the best tackles in football protecting Aaron Rodgers‘ blind side, in a game that could get out of hand quick, you would have to expect the Packers to lean on the running game. In addition, while Bakhtiari is a tremendous guard, he’s known much more for his pass protecting than he is in the running game. He has a pass blocking score of 92.6, and a run blocking score of 66.9, on PFF.
