NFL DraftKings December 2 Full Slate: Pay Up for Quarterback
By Bill Pivetz
DraftKings players have the full pool of players to pick from with 13 teams playing in the full slate. It may benefit you to pay for a quarterback based on matchups.
For the first time since Week 3, there are no bye weeks. This gives DraftKings players the full slate of players to choose from when building their lineups. There are 13 games during the full slate, nine 1 PM games and four 4 PM games. Playing the full slate is difficult to win but if you spend on a quarterback, it’ll make it a lot easier.
Based on the position, the top quarterbacks are priced below the best running backs and wide receivers. The difference is sometimes close to $2,000. While there are cheaper options that can produce, this week is the week to spend on a quarterback. Those players have the track record and a favorable matchup to exploit.
In the full slate, Patrick Mahomes is the most expensive option at $7,600. He faces the Oakland Raiders and their porous secondary. Even without Kareem Hunt, the Kansas City Chiefs offense has enough weapons to pull out another win.

Mahomes has a rocket of an arm but can still make plays with his feet. He has at least 18 rushing yards in his last three games. I think he’ll break 30 yards for the first time since Week 9.
Cam Newton is the next quarterback at just $6,600. He and the Carolina Panthers face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The last time Newton faced Tampa Bay, he threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for another 33 yards.
Christian McCaffrey, Greg Olsen and D.J. Moore are Newton’s top targets. Curtis Samuel is even getting looks while Devin Funchess struggles to stay healthy. Newton will bounce back and light up the Bucs secondary.
Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams are back from bye and have a favorable matchup in Week 13. They face the Detroit Lions defense, who have allowed 238.4 passing yards and 26 points per game this season. They’ve given up 30-plus points in their last three games.
Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods and Josh Reynolds are all getting targets as the top three wide receivers. Tight ends Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee are also getting looks. With all of those pass catchers available, Goff should have a field day against the Lions. At just $6,400, Goff is worth the price.
Honorable Mention: Russell Wilson ($6,300), Lamar Jackson ($5,900)
Even as the most expensive quarterbacks, these players are still priced favorably. You can still add a top receiver or running back and be competitive. But facing the bottom five in defenses makes them must plays regardless of their price.
