The 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship Game has a lot of hype to live up to, but where will all the drama transpire this year?
There is plenty of reason to look forward to the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship Game before we ever get there. Heck, there’s been reason to look forward to the title game since before the start of the 2018 regular season. After all, we’re talking about the culmination of an entire year’s worth of football, which can only mean that greatness is likely to ensue.
What’s more, recent history tells us that the game is going to wind up being a classic. When you look back two years ago at the rematch between the Clemson Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide, it was an absolute thriller in Tampa. Jalen Hurts seemingly had carried Nick Saban’s team to victory, but it was Deshaun Watson’s time to become immortal as he came back in the final moments for the win.
Last year, of course, was the coming out party for Tua Tagovailoa and Alabama against the Georgia Bulldogs. After Kirby Smart’s team jumped out to a big first half lead, the freshman quarterback took over for Bama and staged a historic comeback as the Tide won in an overtime classic in Atlanta.
These two East Coast cities have hosted some of the best National Championship Games that we’ve seen. Thus, you have to wonder if the committee and the NCAA are interested in keeping that trend going or if they’re planning on moving the game elsewhere this year. So then, where will the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship Game be played?
On Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, the College Football Playoff National Championship Game will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. So then, the game will be going out west this year. Fans can only hope that the results are the same on a different coast in terms of the quality of the game.
