DraftKings NBA Picks December 3: Lock in Anthony Davis

We have a solid seven game DraftKings NBA slate tonight. The Pelicans and Clippers are the only two on back to backs, and they just happen to play each other. Watch out for resting players, but it’s still early enough in the season that this shouldn’t be a thing.

More from DFS

The money line was way up to 294.5 last night. I had a lineup at 284, but the ineffectiveness of SGA and Bam torpedeoed great performances by Lillard, DeRozan, and DeAndre. Those guy did help me put up 327.5 in the nightcap though.

The winning lineup was up quite a ways to 361.25 DraftKings points. He built around DeMar, LMA, and DeAndre, but him taking a chance on Whiteside and the Mavs stack game up big with Dennis Smith leaving early.

Tonight is looking like a night to pick a lineup or three and go with it. There are late night hammers galore!

DraftKings NBA Point Guards:

Best Bets:

John Wall ($9,300): Westbrook has been over 50 DraftKings points in every game since his return, but that doesn’t hit value for his price. Curry looked rusty in his return, and the Warriors wont need to keep the foot on the gas against the Hawks. I’m looking a little cheaper at Wall. Wall put up 48.5 DraftKings points against the Knicks in the first meeting. Wall has been kind of inconsistent lately, so I understand if you don’t want to take the risk. However, Wall has the upside to hit the 60’s far below the price of Russ or Curry.

Jrue Holiday ($8,300): The Clippers have been one of the two worst teams against point guards for pretty much the entire season. Holiday has not had less than 35 DraftKings points in a game in over a month. That’s the kind of floor you want, and he also has the upside to flirt with 60 if his shot is falling. There is big upside here tonight.

Honorable Mention:

Trae Young ($6,000): Young was solid in his first game against the player he draws the most comparisons to. Young is capable of putting up big numbers, but on nights when his shot isn’t falling, the Hawks have been less patient with him, thus limiting his minutes. Of course, we don’t know how Young’s shot looks until the game starts, so you are kind of playing roulette any time you use him.

Dennis Schroder ($5,800): Many DFS players have stayed away from Schroder since Westbrook’s return, but now Schroder’s price is down to a more manageable range. Schroder has at least 5x value in four of the last five and eight of the last ten at this price. He is still putting up good numbers alongside Westbrook, he just doesn’t have anywhere close to the upside that he once did.

Dark Horses:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($5,500): SGA was a huge disappointment after a strong start last night, but I’m willing to go back to him against the Pelicans. First off, he should be well rested after only playing 24 minutes last night. Second, this should be a big pace up game against the Pelicans. I see him bouncing back tonight to somewhere around 30 DraftKings points.

Collin Sexton ($5,200): The Nets are the worst team in the league against point guards, so Sexton is in a very good place here. He hasn’t really shown the ability to take over the game, but Sexton is still capable of getting into the 30’s for DraftKings points.

Emmanuel Mudiay ($5,000): Coach Fizdale should be fired only because he may as well be Satan himself to DFS players. His rotations are aggravating and have virtually no rhyme or reason. Mudiay SHOULD see some good minutes starting with Trey Burke going down, but who knows? Mudiay was a monster on Saturday, so knowing Fizdale, Mudiay should be good for about 18 minutes of playing time tonight. If you are willing to roll the dice with a Knick, it will make or break you.

My pick: Holiday(PG), Sexton(G); Young(PG), Sexton(G), Mudiay(UTIL)

DraftKings NBA

DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

Bradley Beal ($7,900): Once again, Harden almost never hits value with Paul out there, so it makes since to save some money here. Beal put up 43.5 DraftKings points against the Knicks the first time around. However, Beal has just 51.75 DraftKings points over the last two games combined. Beal isn’t exactly the safest option tonight either.

Klay Thompson ($7,400): Klay kept right on trucking even with Curry back. His value will always be centered on scoring, but Thompson has a great matchup tonight with the Hawks. Thompson has at least 30 DraftKings points in eight straight games. That gives him a better floor than most at the position right now.

Honorable Mention:

Tim Hardaway Jr ($6,900): Hey kids, do you like volatility? Well, here you go! This isn’t your regular run of the mill Knicks minutes volatility. Hardaway is literally the only Knick that has played consistent minutes all year. However, THJ is so reliant on points to hit value that he is all over the board as far as production goes. Hardaway is the leading scorer on the team, but an average is just that. A sum of a bunch of parts. Well, not every part is equal, and you may find up with a lesser part of the average on any given night.

Gary Harris ($5,100): Harris lit the lamp with 38.75 DraftKings points in his return after week absence with a sore ankle. It’s pretty safe to say he’s okay now. The matchup with Toronto is not a great one, but Harris is capable of scoring on anyone. The minutes are going to be there and so are the shots. All he has to do is make them, and at this price, it doesn’t have to be a lot of them.

Dark Horses:

Lou Williams ($4,900): This is a pretty good price on Williams here. LouWill doesn’t start, but he mostly plays starters minutes.. Like many at this position his production isn’t guaranteed, but at this price, you can’t argue with the upside. Williams racked up 36.25 DraftKings points last night. That’s pretty much the low end of his upside.

Tim Frazier ($4,700): At this point, the status of Frank Jackson shouldn’t even matter right now. Frazier has played so well in his absence that the Pelicans should just leave Frazier in there. He has 91.25 DraftKings points over the last three games. If Frazer starts again, he is a strong value play once again.

Damyean Dotson ($4,500): Dotson’s minutes have been all over the place, but he has racked up 85 DraftKings points in 80 minutes over the last three games. Whenever Dotson is on the court, he produces. That’s a problem for the Knicks because that means less ping pong balls, so who knows what they will do. Probably the opposite of what rational people think they should.

My pick: Dotson(SG); Harris(SG)

DraftKings NBA
TORONTO, ON – OCTOBER 17: Kawhi Leonard #2 of the Toronto Raptors shoots the ball as Rodney Hood #1 and George Hill #3 of the Cleveland Cavaliers defend during the second half of the NBA season opener at Scotiabank Arena on October 17, 2018 in Toronto, Canada. DraftKings NBA Small Forwards:

Best Bets:

Kawhi Leonard ($9,700): Leonard now has more than 50 DraftKings points in five of the last seven games, and has been above 45 in six of those. Denver presents a tougher matchup, but Leonard was huge with Lowry out on Friday. If Lowry is out again. I would even elevate Kawhi to must play status. As it stands, even with Lowry in the game, I would use Kawhi over any of the other studs thus far. Durant’s production fell by a third with Curry back.

Tobias Harris ($8,100): Harris put up 44.25 DraftKings points on the Pelicans in the first meeting. Throughout Harris’s tenure with the Clippers, he has been remarkably consistent…..until the last four games. In that span, Harris has one game in the 20’s, one in the 30’s, one in the 40’s, and one in the 50’s for DraftKings points. I would lean towards the 40’s here, but this sudden inconsistency shakes my confidence in him some.

Honorable Mention:

Nikola Mirotic ($7,200): Mirotic put up 36 DraftKings points in 30 minutes in the first meeting with the Clippers, and that was despite not hitting a three point shot. His production was down on the road trip to Charlotte and Miami, but some home cooking could get Mirotic back on track. A matchup with the Clippers doesn’t hurt either.

Robert Covington ($6,800): Covington has been on fire lately, including his first double double as a member of the Timberwolves on Saturday. Houston presents a tougher matchup for Covington, but the Timberwolves are going to play him against his former team as much has he can handle. There is still some upside for Covington, even at this price.

Danilo Gallinari ($6,600): It looks like Gallinari is pretty much back to pre injury form here with the Clippers. His minutes are consistently in the low 30’s and his production is in the mid to high 30’s. Gallinari has at least 30 DraftKings points in six of the last seven games. I think you already know where he was in the first meeting with the Pelicans. That’s right. 37.5 DraftKings points. He is a strong mid range play tonight.

Dark Horses:

Taurean Prince ($4,800): This looks really cheap for Prince. First off, he put up 34 DraftKings points on the Warriors in the first meeting. Second, Prince plays at least 30 minutes per game unless he’s in foul trouble. A recent cold streak has dropped his price a lot, but Prince still ended up with 27.25 DraftKings points on Friday, and he has topped 5x value twice in the last three games.

Juancho Hernangomez ($4,400): Hernangomez doesn’t have the upside that made him a DFS darling a few weeks ago, but he is still playing minutes in the high 20’s and still putting up over 5x value. Juancho may never hit 40 DraftKings points again, but that doesn’t mean he can’t hit 30 and give you well over 6x value.

Allen Crabbe ($3,700): Crabbe started on Saturday and put up a solid line of 22 DraftKings points. Crabbe is solid, but unspectacular for the Nets. However, if he adds anything to his scoring, Crabbe is going to hit 6x value with ease. That said, I wouldn’t touch this unless he starts again.

My pick: Crabbe(SF); Prince(SF)

DraftKings NBA Power Forwards:

Best Bet:

Anthony Davis ($11,500): Davis was a monster again yesterday with 80.25 DraftKings points. He was even almost that good in the first meeting with the Clippers, putting up 67.75 DraftKings points. There is no reason not to play Davis at this point. If you fade him, you pretty much hate money.

Honorable Mention:

Paul Millsap ($6,300): Is it finally for real this time? Millsap has 93.25 DraftKings points over the last two games. He is firing up the team lately, and if Denver will play him the 36 minutes that he played against Portland on Friday, then this price is way too low. However, Denver is one of those teams that routinely pisses in our Cheerios with rotations as well. There is risk here, but we could be rewarded big time if the minutes are there.

Markieff Morris ($5,900): Morris has been a monster over the last seven games or so. The only team that has held him under 32 DraftKings points in that span in Philly, and Morris only played 22 minutes in that game as Washington was still playing Jeff Green for some reason. Morris racked up 36.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting with the Knicks. Green is still cutting into his minutes, but Morris is doing far more with his allotment than Green is.

Dark Horses:

Noah Vonleh ($5,300): Vonleh might play 35 minutes like he did on Saturday. He might play 18 like he did on Wednesday. We just don’t know. When the minutes are there, Vonleh produces, but good luck figuring out this rotation.

DeMarre Carroll ($3,900): Carroll still comes off the bench most games, but the Nets will use him as game flow dictates. He was huge against Memphis a few nights ago, playing 39 minutes in the double overtime game. He still played a solid 21 minutes, mimicking that total in DraftKings points. So long as Carroll sees 20 minutes, he is a decent value play, but has no upside.

Stanley Johnson ($3,700): Johnson has put up some pretty big stat lines lately, topping 30 DraftKings points twice in the last three games. This is a decent enough matchup with the Thunder to roll him out there as a value play.

My pick: Davis(PF), Morris(F); Davis(PF), Morris(F)

DraftKings NBA

DraftKings NBA Center

Best Bet:

Andre Drummond ($9,200): This is not the best matchup with the Thunder, but in games where Griffin has a tough matchup as well, it has been Drummond that comes up big for Detroit. His rebounding prowess keeps the floor awfully high even if he isn’t hitting free throws (he isn’t). I tend to think that there isn’t much of a reason to take a risk with all of the other high priced talent available, but if going with a high priced play other than Davis, I would still take Drummond over Curry, Harden, or Durant.

Clint Capela ($8,600): Capela has taken off since Houston started playing him more than 30 minutes per game. Now he gets to take his talents at KAT’s matador defense. This could be another big game for Capela, even at this price.

More from FanSided

Honorable Mention:

Montrezl Harrell ($7,600): Harrell was held to 28 DraftKings points in the first meeting with New Orleans, but it’s really hard to argue with what Harrell is doing lately. He has at least 35 DraftKings points in the last seven games, and has not been below 30 since that first meeting with the Pelicans. There is no reason not to think that Harrell will hit at least 30 yet again.

Tristan Thompson ($6,500): Look, I know that Thompson isn’t a huge offensive threat, but HE’S PLAYING THE NETS! Lock him up!

Steven Adams ($6,400): Drummond is one of the best rebounders on the planet, but that still doesn’t mean that he is a strong defensive player. However, Adams’ main contribution with Russ on the floor is rebounds, so there is inherent risk here unless the Thunder break rank and let Adams go at Drummond.

Dark Horses:

Jarrett Allen ($5,500): Allen is putting up solid numbers when he can stay out of foul trouble. He put up 28.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting against Cleveland. Thompson is a pretty strong defender on the inside, but Allen doesn’t need to go nuts to hit value. A moderate game from him gets value here, so Allen is a decent value play.

John Collins ($5,300): Atlanta has steadily increased Collins’ minutes. Now he is going about 32 minutes a game and he has hit 5x value or more in four straight games. This is an even better matchup with the Warriors with both Draymond and Damian Jones out. We could see a big game from Collins here.

Kevon Looney ($3,700): Judging by the recent past, Looney is probably going to start and play most of the time at center. Jordan Bell should be a strong value play as well, but I really only want to mess with the one that starts until an obvious pecking order is developed.

My pick: Allen(C), Collins(UTIL); Thompson(C)
