Hey guys! We’re almost to the playoffs so there is no slowing down! Week 14 holds another 13 game Fantasy Football slate so there is a lot to cover. Lets start the week off with the five things to watch for in Week 14.

Fantasy Football: Five Things To Watch For Week 14

Can Patrick Mahomes Defeat The Baltimore Ravens Defense?

Patrick MaGOAT has been phenomenal this year and now he gets to face a very tough defense at home. Mahomes has thrown an astonishing 41 touchdowns with only 10 interceptions on the year while averaging 326 yards per game. Not only is Patrick Mahomes dominating but the entire offense is while scoring 37 points per game.

We thought the departure of Kareem Hunt due to a domestic violence incident that happened in February, may have hurt the Chiefs as a whole, it didn’t. The Baltimore Ravens are ranked 2nd in passing defense allowing 194 yards and rank 3rd in rushing defense allowing only 87 yards per game. This is possible Kareem Hunts biggest challenge this year and can he keep up his stats and pure dominance?

Does Mike McCarthy’s Departure Help Green Bay?

In what some say happened in surprising fashion, Green Bay officially fired Mike McCarthy after 12 seasons when they lost to the Arizona Cardinals. We have seen the frustration with Aaron Rodgers, DeVante Adams, and Aaron Jones this season. The offense play calling has been lacking and Aaron Rodgers season has been proof of it.

We know exactly what the capabilities are with Rodgers but when the lack comes in with others, there is cause for concern. The Packers do face Atlanta on Sunday and while we don’t expect them to be back to Superbowl form, they should be playing at a higher level with a new head coach coming in soon.

More Ups and Downs For Michael Thomas?

Fresh off of a long week after an embarrassing loss to the Dallas Cowboys, the New Orleans should bounce back. Drew Brees was held to only 127 passing yards while Michael Thomas was held to 4 receptions off of 8 targets just for 40 yards. But we’ve seen this all season long with Michael Thomas. The Saints get to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who rank 27th in pass defense, allowing 274 yards per game and they allow 29 points per game. We know during the hot streaks of the Saints, Thomas is a huge beneficiary of it and it’s almost playoff time so expect the entire offense to ramp up.

Do You Even Target a Tight End With New Orleans?

Sticking with the same team, Tampa Bay is the team that we always look to exploit except with this weeks match-up, who knows. Bubba Watson and Dan Arnold aren’t tight ends to even watch for as they don’t see the targets like other tight ends. Each tight end on the New Orleans is lucky to see two targets, if that.

Between the three tight ends on the Saints, they combine for just four touchdowns as a group. While I preach to exploit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense, this will be the first time of the season that we look to fade them.

Does The Dominance of Christian McCaffrey Continue?

First there was the dominance of Todd Gurley, then Alvin Kamara, next came Melvin Gordon, and now Christian McCaffrey is up there too. McCaffrey is making the decision of rostering a running-back much more difficult. In his past five games he has scored 32.7, 36.8, 17, 52.7, and 34.1 fantasy points which is very hard to pass up. McCaffrey is averaging 71 yards per game rushing and 55 yards per game in the passing game with a combined 11 touchdowns. He gets to face the Cleveland Browns who rank 28th in rush defense, allowing teams 136 yards per game.

While the Browns are getting a face lift with a new coaching staff, they are still trying to get their feet on the ground which allows teams to come in and dominate and put up numbers as a whole. While some dominance fizzle out with some players, McCaffrey doesn’t look too in an offense that needs him badly.
