Everton face Newcastle at Goodison Park on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
After games over the weekend, the Premier League has a quick turnaround with midweek games. On Wednesday, Everton host Newcastle at Goodison Park. The Toffees are sixth in the table with 22 points, while the Magpies are 15th with 12 points, just three points above the relegation zone.
Everton were seconds away from taking a point from Liverpool over the weekend but a 96th-minute goal from Divock Origi gave Liverpool all three points. Keeper Jordan Pickford made a mistake that directly led to Liverpool’s goal. Pickford will have to put his mistake behind him and move onto the next game. Despite the mistake, Pickford has played very well for Everton since joining the club last season from Sunderland. Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison have both scored six goals this season and Everton will rely on them to score goals Wednesday against Newcastle.
Newcastle lost 3-0 to West Ham on Saturday as Rafa Benitez changed his starting XI, resting some players with two games in a four-day stretch. The loss ended a three-game winning streak for Newcastle. Newcastle’s biggest problem this season has been their inability to score goals. Only two teams have scored fewer goals than Newcastle, who have scored only 11 goals. No Newcastle player has scored more than two goals this season.
