Fantasy Football: NFL DFS Lock Plays Week 14
Drew Brees vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Salary: Draftkings: $6,600 | Fanduel: $8,500
It’s hard to expect Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints to have a rough back to back week especially when they get to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. The Cowboys held Drew Brees to 127 passing yards last Thursday which shocked just about every single person in this world, maybe even Cowboy fans. Drew Brees has 30 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions on the season while averaging 271 passing yards per game. Now on the other end, the Buccaneers are ranked 28th in pass defense, allowing 278 yards per game which is right on par with Brees per game average. The Buccaneers struggle to defend every position on the opposing team giving Brees the prime NFL DFS opportunity this week to get back on track.
Christian McCaffrey vs. Carolina Panthers
Salary: Draftkings: $9,300 | Fanduel: $9,100
If you pair Drew Brees and Christian McCaffrey this week, it may make it a little difficult constructing the rest of the line up but McCaffrey is hard to pass up on. The man is simply on a roll. We covered his dominance in the “Five Things To Watch For” article so lets recap it. In his past five games he has scored 32.7, 36.8, 17, 52.7, and 34.1 fantasy points. Now he gets to face the Cleveland Browns who rank 28th in rushing defense, allowing 136 yards per game. While McCaffrey has only scored 4 touchdowns in those previous five games, two of them in which he didn’t find the end-zone so it makes his dominance look even better. McCaffrey should be able to show up and dominate once again.

Keenan Allen vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Salary: Draftkings: $7,400 | Fanduel: $7,900
Keenan Allen has been on fire in his past five games with just one game under 20 fantasy points. He now gets another opportunity to continue his streak versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Allen is averaging 83 yards per game with 73% catch rate. But he does only have five touchdowns on the season and that’s the only downside of playing him. The Bengals do rank 31st against the pass, allowing 280 yards per game. Against the number one receiver, Bengals are allowing 8 receptions for about 70 yards per game. This is another lock play that we can’t pass up as we’ve seen what a terrible mess the Bengals are this season.
James White vs. Miami Dolphins
Salary: Draftkings: $6,600 | Fanduel: $7,200
It’s hard choosing the correct running-back with the New England Patriots but facing the Miami Dolphins, you may be in luck. James White isn’t used as the normal running-back but excels in the passing game. He is averaging 55 yards in the passing game and has 6 receiving touchdowns. While he doesn’t average the normal amount of rushing yards, he is used in situations where he can score at the goal-line. The Dolphins rank 30th in defending the rush, allowing 144 rushing yards per game. Also what the Dolphins allow per game to running-backs is on par with James White’s season average which is 54 yards per game. While this may not be the highest scoring game or a shootout, expect James White to do what he can do in this match-up.
Dante Pettis vs. San Francisco 49ers
Salary: Draftkings: $4,400 | Fanduel: $5,500
While I’m usually way off with my San Francisco 49ers Dante Pettis stock has been on the rise while the 49ers are falling apart, In his previous two games, he has scored 17.7 and 32.7 fantasy points which is hard to pass up. He’s catching close to 60% of what is thrown his way while averaging 35 yards per game. He has found the end-zone three times in the past two games gaining momentum for what is a dead season. The Denver Broncos rank 23rd against the pass, allowing 260 yards per game and when facing the number one receiver, they give up 71 yards and with the number two receiver they give up 60 yards. Kyle Shanahan will most likely keep Marquise Goodwin and Pierre Garcion on the shelf for the remainder of the season as he said that he is already looking towards the 2019 season giving Pettis a bump in playing time.
