Heās also more efficient and more explosive than Dwayne Haskins
If weāre going to compare Murray to one of his competitors, itās only fair to compare him to the other. Dwayne Haskins has been incredible all season and has everything he needs to succeed at the NFL level. Heās thrown for more yards and touchdowns than Murray and has helped his team get to a 12-1 record while facing some tough defenses.
But, when comparing everything that these two have done statistically, Murray comes out on top. Looking at combined rushing and passing stats, Murray has 4,945 total yards and 51 total touchdowns. Haskins, meanwhile, is responsible for 4,702 yards and 51 touchdowns. Murray has more yards and the same amount of touchdowns to Haskins here.
If someone wanted to look solely at passing stats, itās important to note that Murray has 340 passing attempts this season while Haskins has 496. Murray is averaging 11.9 yards per pass attempt while Haskins is averaging 10.4.
For the sake of the argument, letās assume that Murray had thrown the ball the same number of times that Haskins did. Murray would then have 5913 passing yards this season. Thatās more than 1400 more passing yards that Murray would have over Haskins with the same number of passes. Doing that same sort of math with touchdowns would result in Murray throwing for 58 touchdowns if heād had 496 passing attempts and was still getting as many touchdowns per attempt as he is currently.
To top all of that off, Haskins isnāt even any more efficient than Murray is. Haskins has completed 70.2 percent of his passes while Murray has completed 70.9. Murray has a PER of 205.7 while Haskins has a PER of just 175.8.
