Kelvin Benjamin is out of a job and is looking to find employment. He recently visited the Kansas City Chiefs. If signed, how can he help them?

Kelvin Benjamin was cut recently by the Buffalo Bills, so he is searching for a new home.

The Bills parted ways with Benjamin as they have decided to embrace a rebuild for next season. The first place that Benjamin decided to visit was the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs feature a prolific passing attack led by Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce. What the Chiefs perhaps is looking for is added stability, since Sammy Watkins has missed time with a foot injury.

Or, the Chiefs are possibly looking into Benjamin being a red zone target in scoring situations. Kelvin Benjamin is 6’5 and weighs 243 pounds. With that particular size advantage, it will be hard for most defenses to defend that frame. Benjamin can team with Kelce to add to an already frightening dynamic of big physical receiving targets.

But Benjamin’s work ethic must come in tow. During his time in Buffalo, he has caught only 23 catches on 62 targets. In basketball, that percentage (37 percent) would be considered dismal. With Benjamin traded out of Carolina last season and released from the Bills this season, Benjamin should understand that whether it’s the Chiefs or any other team. he is running out of chances.

But if the Chiefs elect to sign him, they are still getting a more than capable player who should excel in Andy Reid’s system. It will all depend on whether or not Benjamin is willing to buy into how the Chiefs operate and does he want to be of assistance or a hindrance. Because NFL players who are 6’5 and weigh 243 pounds don’t grow on trees.
