3. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have been on this list multiple times in recent weeks, but for good reason. They have been one of the hottest teams in the AFC and are remarkably within reach of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. Only one game back, the Chargers could still win the division, although it would require some help. However, the Chargers can clinch a wild card spot this weekend, but it is rather complicated.

First and foremost, they need to win. At home against a Cincinnati Bengals team that is a shell of what it was to start the season, that should not seem like an issue. But, anything can happen. It is the help that the Chargers need that makes this situation complicated.

On top of the win, the Chargers need the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, and Tennessee Titans to all either lose or tie. As convoluted as that is, the simple fact is that the Chargers are so close to making it to the playoffs that they can nearly taste it.

Regardless of the crazy “clinch now” situation they are in, the Chargers are simply focused on bringing in more victories. If they win out, they make the playoffs and have a shot at the division. Their destiny is in their hands. This weekend is a great opportunity for the Chargers to take another huge step towards the playoffs. With a very favorable match up, the Bolts need to take advantage.
