Matchweek 16 of the Premier League rounds off a third match in a week for every Premier League club. There’s lots of exciting games including Liverpool’s visit to Bournemouth and Chelsea’s home match against Manchester City.
Claudio Ranieri’s rejuvenated Fulham face a difficult trip to Old Trafford while Southampton’s new boss Ralph Hasenhuttl will look to get his first win as the Saints travel to Cardiff. Brighton will look to continue their good run of form as they face a Burnley side who haven’t won since September. Here are five bold predictions for all the action.
5. Wilson, Salah score twice each Bournemouth beat Liverpool
The early kickoff on Saturday sees unbeaten Liverpool travel to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth. Both of these sides are having fantastic season while playing brilliant and eye-catching soccer, making this game a must watch.
David Brooks and Ryan Fraser have been standouts for Bournemouth, creating plenty of chances which Callum Wilson has been putting away for fun. The Cherries striker has now scored eight Premier League goals this season and this form has earned him hist first England caps.
Liverpool were never going to have the season they did last year, where teams had no idea how to deal with their ridiculously fast attacking play. However, the Reds have adapted to this, found a different way to win and improved upon the defensive side of their game.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side may have an opportunity to return to last season’s style this weekend as Bournemouth like to play their own open brand of soccer. Eddie Howe’s side have conceded 22 goals so far this season and it’s unlikely they can keep Liverpool out.
The above all points to a thriller on Saturday as these sides try and outscore each other to take all three points. The Reds are unbeaten in the league and of course with every match this becomes more difficult to maintain.
Despite both of these sides having plenty of attacking threats, both Mohamed Salah and Wilson seem like the most likely to find the back of the net in this game. Salah has come under fire a little for not being the man of last season but he’s still managed seven Premier League goals so far.
Wilson and Salah will both bag a double over the course of 90 minutes but Bournemouth will get the decisive fifth goal and put an end to Liverpool’s fantastic start to the season.
