Here are three defenses with favorable matchups to use in Week 14 if you are looking to save a few bucks when constructing your NFL DraftKings lineup.

The Week 14 NFL DraftKings full slate features 13 games. There are a few division matchups that could affect the NFL Playoff picture. There are a couple of matchups that could lead to successful performances for one side’s defense.

The league’s top defenses, like every position, are the most expensive options. While the price separation isn’t as steep, between $2,000 and $3,600, you can still wind up saving a few hundred dollars if you want to use that money on another player.

Defenses scoring 20-plus points are rare. The best scoring defense, the Houston Texans, are averaging 9.9 fantasy points per game. They aren’t game-changing options but you could win a few extra bucks with the right choice.

The three defenses I chose are priced at under $2,500, less than five percent of your DraftKings budget. If they at least meet their expectations, they’ll be worth the price.

Arizona Cardinals, vs DET

The Cardinals defense have scored five or under in four straight games. They did play some tough offenses in that span so the chances to score were low. They did not record an interception but did rack up 14 sacks.

The Detroit Lions have been hurting on offense with Golden Tate in Philadelphia and Marvin Jones on the IR. Kenny Golladay is expected to be tightly covered, leaving Matthew Stafford to target Bruce Ellington, Levine Toilolo and Theo Riddick.

The Cardinals defense should be able to break through the offensive line and pressure Stafford into a bad throw or two.

Washington Redskins, vs NYG

I mentioned using the New York Giants defense in my Week 14 waiver wire piece. With Mark Sanchez under center, it’s a no-brainer. However, on the other side of the ball, the Redskins defense has been forcing a lot of turnovers.

In their last four games, they have five interceptions, three fumble recoveries and nine sacks. They did get torched by the Eagles offense last Monday, scoring just 1.0 fantasy points.

The Giants offense revolves around Saquon Barkley. The Redskins defense can only try to limit his scoring, they can’t stop him. What they can do is pressure Eli Manning and get him off his rhythm. They scored 15.0 points the last time these two teams faced.

New York Jets, @BUF

The Buffalo Bills fans and fantasy owners saw the breakout performance of Zay Jones. It was enough for the front office to cut Kelvin Benjamin. Outside of him and LeSean McCoy, the Bills offense doesn’t have enough weapons to dominate the Jets.

In his second game back from injury, Josh Allen scored 30 points, helped by his 135 rushing yards. Owners should not expect another performance like that. Though, Allen was injured the last time these two teams played.

Matt Barkley was under center against the Jets in Week 10. The Jets have an average defense but the Bills offense is just as bad. This could either but a low-scoring game or an all-out shootout.

These three defenses have the potential to score double-digit points. While you can use a top option, you can separate yourself from the pack with a contrarian play. Good luck in Week 14.
