Thank goodness for social media. After the Dolphins defeated the Patriots in humiliating fashion, Twitter had some fun.
If you haven’t yet heard about the “Miracle in Miami,” you might be living under a rock.
On Sunday, the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins squared off in their annual matchup at Hard Rock Stadium. Stunningly, it was an offensive shootout for much of the game. But after Stephen Gostkowski gave the Pats a 33-28 lead with a field goal in the final minutes, it looked like they had the game wrapped up — which would’ve clinched New England its 10th consecutive AFC East championship.
But then, the Dolphins pulled off one of the craziest, flukiest, most jaw-dropping touchdowns in NFL history to stea the victory 34-33 with no time left on the clock. They lateralled all over the field until the ball found it way into the hands of Kenyon Drake, who sprinted to the end zone and Rob Gronkowski took a tumble trying to make the game-ending tackle.

The victory did multiple things at once: it kept the Dolphins very much alive in the AFC wild card race, and it pretty much ended any hopes the Patriots had of claiming the No. 1 seed in the AFC. It was an all-time embarrassing moment for Bill Belichick’s squad.
It also gave us pure gold from the Patriots radio broadcast team. Never afraid to tout their homerism, the crew had absolutely no words for what they had just witnessed.
As expected, Twitter had a blast with this one, from both Patriots haters and Patriots lovers everywhere.
Here are a few reactions to arguably the most unbelievable play we’ve seen all year:
Don’t always love Miami but when I do it’s because they lateral a miracle against the Patriots .

To make things even more hilarious, a pair of Patriots broadcasters were so stunned by the play that they fell silent after it happened. To be fair, how exactly do you respond to something like that?

If you’re a Patriots fan, get ready to hear about this for the rest of the season, and possibly the rest of your life.
