NHL DFS Man Advantage Monday December 10th
By Matt Vecchio
Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Monday night December 10th. Tonight is small 4 game slate that features some of the leagues lowest scoring teams. Out of the 8 teams on tonight’s slate, 5 of them are in the bottom 15 teams in the league in scoring ( LA, NYR, NYI, NJ, and Det).
With there being so many low scoring teams a lot of the focus of NHL DFS lineups are going to come from the remaining 3 teams (Pit, SJ, TB). We will have to dig deep and find the best options from the bottom teams to mix with the high scoring teams to cash tonight and I am here to dig through and hopefully give you some options to help you win tonight.
NHL DFS Goalies:
My top goalie on the night is Martin Jones from San Jose. Jones comes winning 2 of his last 3 starts and only allowing 5 goals in the 3 games. San Jose is 9th in the league in shots allowed and the Devils average 33.4 SF/G, 5th highest in the league. In the 2 wins Jones faced 81 combined shots and stopped 79 of them, so the heavy shot load is not a deterrent for me using him, instead it’s a positive.
Another viable option for tonight is Jimmy Howard. Howard has quietly been having a pretty decent season with a 2.70 GAA and a .920 SV%. Over his last 3 starts Howard is 2-1 but he has allowed 10 goals in those games which is higher than usual for Howard this season, but he is facing a Kings team who is the bottom of the league in goals scored. Detroit also allows the 3rd most shots per game, combining this with the inability to score makes Howard a viable option.
Other options: Casey Desmith, Jonathan Quick, and Louis Domingue
NHL DFS Top Plays
Nikita Kucherov ($7,700) – Kucherov has supplanted Steven Stamkos as the Lightning’s best player, though line mate Brayden Point is trying to stake a claim to that as well. Over the teams last 10 games Kuch has 4 goals and 16 assists for a 2 point per game average ( 6.02 FPPG avg). Kucherov is practically a must play on such a small slate.
Jake Guentzel ($6,700) – Guentzel has made hmseld home as Sidney Crosby‘s main winger. During his last 10 games Guentzel has 6 goals and 7 assists. While playing alongside Crosby on the Pens first line, he sees time on the Peneguins 2nd PP unit
Dylan Larkin ($6,200) – Larkin’s line are pretty much the only Red Wings producing regularly at this point in the season. Over his last 5 games Larkin has 2 goals and 5 assists, and line mate Gustav Nyquist ($6,000) has 4 goals and 5 assists.

Logan Couture ($5,900) – With the Devils coming into San Jose on the second night of a back to back they could have some tired legs allowing the Sharks to skate circles around them and pot some goals. Couture is one Shark I expect to get some points tonight. Couture has points in 4 straight games for the Sharks (2 goals 3 assists) and looks to make it 5 straight tonight.
Mika Zibanejad ($5,400) – The Rangers are for the most part a one line team with their top 3 scorers all from the 1st line and Zibanejad leading the way. Zibanejad is second on the team with 9 goals and leads the Rangers with 17 assists. Over his last 5 games Zibanejad has 2 goals and 5 assists.
Brian Dumoulin ($4,000) – During the Pens last 4 games Dumoulin has 3 assists to go along with 12 fantasy points (3 FPPG avg). Dumoulin plays on the Penguins top d pair, but unfortunately he doesn’t see regular time on the PP
Anthony Cirelli ($3,600) – Cirelli has goals in back to back games for Tampa and also over averaging over 4 FPPG. Cirelli makes for a decent value play to get you some exposure to Tampa against the Rangers,
NHL DFS Top Stacks
New Jersey 1 – Taylor Hall – Nico Hischier – Kyle Palmieri : Looks like the Jesper Bratt trial on the top line is over. This line is not a value anymore, but still the Devils best chance to score on Monday.
Pittsburgh 2 – Riley Sheahan – Tanner Pearson – Evgeni Malkin: Now here is your value scoring line. Pay attention to the lineups after the morning skate to see if Sullivan has made changes
NY Islanders 1 – Anders Lee – Brock Nelson – Jordan Eberle: Lee had his goal scoring streak ended last game, time to start a new !
San Jose 2 – Marcus Sorenson – Joe Thornton – Timo Meier: Both Thornton and Meier are playing well. Sorenson has not done much, but for his price ($2,700) he might be worth a flyer.
