The Detroit Lions took on the Arizona Cardinals on the road this past weekend, and were able to pull out a victory against Arizona and rookie quarterback Josh Rosen. It has been a pretty disappointing season for the Lions, who have the talent to make a run in the NFC North, but have been wildly inconsistent for most of the year.

When it comes to the Lions roster, they have incredibly talented players on offense, and are usually able to put up points on anybody. However, their defense has been nothing to write home about, and while there are some good young players on that side of the ball, they need to get better at all three levels of the defense.

In the trenches, the Lions need more talent, and they could choose to use their 2019 first round pick on a guy like Ed Oliver from Houston. A lot of scouts love how talented Oliver is, but he has had his issues during his last season with the Cougars, and has fallen on a lot of draft boards over the past few weeks.

However, if the Lions do end up picking Oliver at No. 10 overall, he would be a dynamic addition to a defense that needs to be revamped this offseason. He has the strength to clog up the inside against the rush, and also the athleticism to get after the quarterback. In Detroit, he could end up being a star.
