High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

De’Anthony Melton (vs DAL – $4,900): Needs 22.2 fantasy points. Melton has been over 30 fantasy points in his last two games. The minutes and opportunities are there for him, which counts for a lot. And the Mavericks are on a back-to-back, which should benefit Melton and the Suns. Diagnosis: At a good salary given the minutes and role he plays. He’s reliable to at least hit value, but given the circumstances, expect another strong outing.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (at SA – $4,700): Needs 21.3 fantasy points. SAG was down to 14 fantasy points against the Raptors on Dec. 11, but don’t be too concerned about that. The Clippers were in a terrible spot on the back-to-back and having gone to OT the night before. Plus, it was a rested Raptors team. With a day off and going up against a poor defensive team like San Antonio, SAG will bounce back with a solid outing. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Jalen Brunson (at PHO – $4,300): Needs 19.6 fantasy points. Brunson was down to 10 fantasy points against the Hawks, but don’t worry too much. With Barea and Smith Jr. likely out on Wednesday, Brunson will be the top point guard option. It really means more Doncic action, but Brunson will get the minutes and he was delivering strong numbers prior to Wednesday. Diagnosis: Good ceiling and matchup. Trust him to bounce back.

Quick Hits

Lonzo Ball ($5,600): Gets numbers in all categories, just inconsistent on the categories. He’s a solid bet to at least give you value.
