Thursday Night Football – Chiefs and Chargers Start or Sit
Who should you start or sit on this Thursday Night Football epic showdown? It is the Battle for the AFC West crown! The Chiefs vs the San Diego Los Angeles Chargers this Thursday night will be an epic matchup between two juggernauts of the American Football Conference. One big question for tomorrow nights game is who will be playing RB for both squads?
The Chargers and Chiefs come into this Thursday Night Football showdown and both have injuries to their RBs and are questionable. Melvin Gordon has been held out 2 games and is questionable as well as Austin Ekeler who is in the concussion protocol. On the Chiefs side, the starter Spencer Ware is also questionable and is looking like a game-time decision but expected to play. Tyreek the speed “freak” Hill is also questionable and said that his foot is a major problem but should still play.
With all these injuries, I will try to piece together the starts and sits for this monumental clash of the titans
Thursday Night Football Start Em
Philip Rivers-For the exception of one game (week 14) Rivers has thrown at least 2 TD’s every week.
Patrick Mahomes-Do I really need to explain this? Start Mahomes EVERY WEEK, he is the number ONE QB in fantasy and is on a record-setting pace for TD passes.
Justin Jackson-If Melvin Gordon isn’t playing then Jackson is the man. The Chiefs are bad against the run plus he would be in line for receptions out of the backfield as well. Think high volume play.
Keenan Allen-Philip Rivers primary target through the air, he had 14 receptions against the Steelers. Allen has not scored less than 17 PPR points in the last 6 games.
Tyreek Hill-The number ONE WR in PPR scoring this year. In the last 8 weeks, he had only three games that were not in the 20-43 point range! He is questionable but expected to play.
Travis Kelce-The number one TE in PPR scoring! The last three games he has 20, 38 and 28 points.
Thursday Night Football Sit Em
Chargers Defense– They are going against the number one offense in fantasy and real life. I don’t expect much defense in this game. The first meeting in week one the Chargers D gave up 38 points.
Chiefs Defense– This defense is not a great unit and they have given up 24, 33 and 42 points the last three weeks.
Antonio Gates– The only Chargers TE apparently getting any targets, he has no value here. He has not had more than 2 receptions in the last three contests.
Spencer Ware/KC RB’s-He has been downgraded to doubtful. I would not trust anyone else as they might have a running back by committee approach.
This Thursday matchup will be a great game. Can it be the best game of the year? I think it will be close. So basically if you got em’, start em’(except the defenses)! Let’s see, so the Chiefs have the number one QB, WR, and TE. Do we see a pattern here? The KC offense is tearing through the NFL and they are just a joy to watch plus the Chargers (and Philip Rivers) are playing some of their best football so what’s not to love? Make sure to check out this game because you may miss something amazing.
