By Adam Stocker
Brighton face Chelsea at AMEX Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 16. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Brighton enter the weekend comfortably in the middle of the table. The Seagulls are five points back of a potential Europa League spot but well clear of the relegation zone. On Sunday, Brighton host Chelsea at AMEX Stadium. The Blues enter the weekend in a tight race for the final two Champions League spots with Tottenham and Arsenal.
Brighton had their three-game unbeaten streak ended last weekend, losing 1-0 to Burnley. The loss continued the Seagulls trend of being awful away from AMEX Stadium. In Brighton’s nine away games, the club picked up only seven of a possible 27 points. At AMEX Stadium, the Seagulls have played significantly better, losing only one game and picking up 14 of 21 points. Glenn Murray did not start against Burnley but should get to play the full 90 minutes again. Murray is the Seagulls leading scorer this season, finding the back of the net eight times.
Chelsea had their best performance of the season last weekend against Manchester City. The Blues won 2-0, handing City their first loss of the season. Eden Hazard set up N’Golo Kante and David Luiz goals against City, continuing his excellent season. Hazard leads Chelsea with seven goals and eight assists in the Premier League this season. While last weekend’s game was one of the best performances by Chelsea, they performed poorly against Wolves and Tottenham in recent weeks, losing both games. The Blues will look to build upon their win over City and put those losses behind them.
