FanDuel NFL: Week 15 lineup
There are only three more games left in the 2018 regular season, but still plenty of daily fantasy to play. Who should be included in your Week 15 FanDuel lineup?
At this point of the regular season, fantasy football owners are looking to make the correct waiver wire move to keep their championship dreams alive. In the daily fantasy football landscape, each week presents a new challenge and a new roster. Before looking ahead to Week 15, let’s take a look at Week 14’s lineup.
Last week’s lineup underachieved big time. Three players were on the Los Angeles Chargers and they struggled against a bad Cincinnati Bengals team.
Keenan Allen led the way with 16.3 fantasy points. He caught five passes for 78 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, Philip Rivers threw only one touchdown in the team’s victory. It was the first time Rivers did not throw at least two touchdowns in a single game this year.
Lastly, the defense gave up 21 points and recorded three sacks. They finished the game with only three fantasy points. Outside of Allen, only two other players finishing in double-digit fantasy points; Alvin Kamara and Dane Pettis.
Kamara compiled 87 total yards in the team’s 28-14 victory of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 49ers also won and Pettis scored in his third consecutive game. The remaining four players combined for 16.7 fantasy points. Zach Ertz and Adam Humphries finished with just over six points each, while LeGarrette Blount and LeSean McCoy tallied a combined 4.2 fantasy points.
Looking ahead, for the first time this season, we will be watching NFL games on Saturday. My Week 15 lineup will only include players that are playing on Sunday, minus the Sunday night football game. All fantasy points discussed are based on FanDuel’s scoring system.
Week 14’s top performers at each position:
Quarterback: Tom Brady, New England Patriots- 26.62
Running back: Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans- 47.8 (Thursday Night) & Saquon Barkley, New York Giants- 27.7
Wide receiver: Amari Cooper, Dallas Cowboys- 44.7; JuJu Smith-Schuster, Pittsburgh Steelers- 29 & Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons- 26.6
Tight end: George Kittle, San Fransisco 49ers- 30.5
FLEX: Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys- 25.2 & Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers- 25.1
Defense: Chicago Bears- 20 (Sunday Night)
Quarterback: Tom Brady, New England Patriots- $7,900
Everybody is talking about the Miami Miracle and rightfully so. The Dolphins were able to pull off the unthinkable and take down the New England Patriots, 34-33.
What isn’t being discussed because of the play, is how well Brady performed. The veteran quarterback threw for a season-high 358 yards and three touchdowns. He finished the game with a 62.79 percent completion percentage and a 112.4 quarterback rating.
Brady was the top scoring fantasy quarterback in Week 14. It was the first time he scored 20-plus fantasy points since Week 7 against the Chicago Bears. Brady has now thrown for 300-plus yards in consecutive games for the second time this season.
This week, Brady and company travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. Brady has played against the Steelers 10 times in his career and is averaging over 300 yards and nearly three touchdowns per game.
On average, opposing quarterbacks are scoring 19.3 fantasy points per game against the Steelers. Pittsburgh has allowed quarterbacks to throw at least two touchdowns in their last three games. Last week against Oakland, Derek Carr had one of his best performances of the year. He threw for 322 yards and two touchdowns.
The Patriots don’t typically have back to back letdowns and that’s why Brady should be your Week 15 lineup.
