Damien Williams, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

Stats: 10 carries, 49 yards, two rushing touchdowns, six receptions and 74 receiving yards

The Kansas City Chiefs running back spot appears to be a shared situation and where the hot hand will get more touches. This makes it tough to figure out for fantasy football purposes because it’s a risk to put the either Damien Williams or Spencer Ware in your lineup.

It was a different story this past weekend with Ware out with an injury. Williams showed his versatility contributing in both the run and passing attack. He’s a shifty and explosive athlete who fits this attacking Chiefs offense.

If you are at the point where you’re making lineup decisions it likely means you are still in the playoffs. Using Williams is a risk based on the presence of Ware. It will be important to monitor the Chiefs practice reports to see if Ware will actually suit up.

However, there’s a good chance that Williams has done enough to secure a role moving forward. His ability as a pass catcher is what will likely help him hold fantasy value.

I’m someone who typically feels better about a player who suits up for a high scoring offense. A team like the Chiefs could easily support to fantasy relevant running backs like Williams and Ware.
