Mike Williams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

Stats: seven receptions, 76 yards and two touchdowns

It’s been a frustrating year for those of us who took a gamble on Mike Williams. He was someone I personally targeted and got very little return. It was an obvious gamble, but now might be the time for Williams to be back on your radar.

His role within the Los Angeles Chargers offense should grow with the injury to Keenan Allen. The Chargers aren’t going to adjust their plan of attack, they will instead expect someone to step up and fill in.

The Chargers are also dealing with the injury to Melvin Gordon who may be back in the lineup in the next few weeks. Gordon isn’t just a good runner, but is also someone who contributes heavily in the passing game.

Williams is coming off a very productive game and will be looking to build off this momentum. He’s worth a wavier wire add if you have room on your bench. It’s possible that he doesn’t make it into your starting lineup, but keeping a player like this away from your opponent is also smart.

As we saw this week, there’s huge upside here so plan accordingly.
