DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks December 18

We have a two round week in the EuroLeague this week. Forwards seem to be the place to spend up today with Gran Canaria and Efes ripe for attacking. Where can we find some value guards? Who is trending up? Let’s dive right in!

More from DFS

The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!

For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value.

TREVISO, ITALY – JUNE 09: Vasilije ‘Vasa’ Micic in action during adidas Eurocamp day three at La Ghirada sports center on June 9, 2014 in Treviso, Italy. (Photo by Roberto Serra/Iguana Press/Getty Images) /

Guards:

Vasilije Micic has topped 25 DraftKings points in every round but the first. At this point, I don’t see anyone holding him under that anytime soon. This is a good matchup against Podgorica, and despite all of the places worth attacking up front, I find myself not wanting to fade Micic.

You could flip and go to Nemanja Gordic on the other side of this game, and I find myself thinking this isn’t a horrible idea. Gordic has five straight games of more than 20 DraftKings points. Vassilis Spanoulis seems to be the safer option in this tier though.

I’m a Matt Janning fan as well, but I have a hard time wanting to pay this price for him, even in a great matchup. I would rather save the money and use Luca Vildoza as the value pick with the same matchup.

Kostas Sloukas has three straight games of more than 20 DraftKings points, and has a nice matchup with CSKA. I think in this place though I would rather save the money and use Shane Larkin, who has put up 51.5 DraftKings points in the last two rounds for Efes.

Most of the good guard matchups are in the middle tier, so you may be able to find enough value to warrant fading Micic and Gordic. Marko Gururic is in a huge spot here. So is Nikola Radicevic.

Albert Oliver is still one of the best value picks going with all of the injuries to the Gran Canaria backcourt. I wouldn’t go any lower than Oliver at guard though.

LAS VEGAS, NV – JULY 15: Lonzo Ball #2 of the Los Angeles Lakers drives to the basket against Vincent Poirier #17 of the Brooklyn Nets during the 2017 Summer League at the Thomas & Mack Center on July 15, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Los Angeles won 115-106. Forwards:

Moerman has a terrible matchup, so I would rather roll with Tornike Shengelia here. Shengelia has topped 30 DraftKings points in three of the last four rounds. Vincent Poirier has been even more consistent. Actually, I have no issue with playing both against Gran Canaria today.

More from FanSided

Georgios Printezis has 62 DraftKings points over the last two rounds and has another perfect matchup with Barcelona. You could flip and use Milutinov on the other side of this game, but it’s strictly to avoid high ownership. I doubt he outscored Printezis.

Zach LeDay is in another good spot, but Printezis has poached a lot of his production. Teams haven’t been able to stop both, but they have stopped one. Which one will Barcelona put their efforts into stopping?

Adam Hanga is still too cheap for what he is doing. Joffrey Lauvergne is the only other one I would consider playing over Hanga in this tier.

The value is gone off of Coty Clarke. His price is too high. Alec Peters and Darrun Hilliard are better picks in this tier.

Kostas Papanikolaou is a little high priced for a value play, but he has been playing well lately and has a great matchup. That said, there is a steep drop in value under this, and Johannes Voigtmann and Axel Toupane are the only other ones under this I would consider. It’s a rough day for value picks if you don’t pluck them at guard.
