Do you play NBA FanDuel cash games? In this article, my goal will be to give you some targets at each position for tonight’s NBA action. In my ever evolving effort to find my writing niche for NBA, I hope you find this informative, and I also hope I can help build your bankroll by helping you build a winning cash lineup.

For the newbies, NBA FanDuel cash games are simply the games in the Fanduel lobby that are 50/50 or close to that to win. These are basically all of the games other than the tournaments, and guaranteed prize pool tournaments (GPP’s). Head-to-Head’s (H2H), 50/50, and double-ups would best summarize cash games.

NBA FanDuel: Cash Game Targets: 12/18/18

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of NBA FanDuel Cash Game Targets. In this almost daily article, I will go over players to target at each position for tonight’s four-game main slate, starting at 7:00 ET. If you are finding this piece for the first time, here is a quick breakdown of what will happen here.

I will give one target at each of the guard and forward positions, and one center. Following the picks, will be the ever popular “sample lineup” we like to do here at FantasyCPR.  All targets in this article will be safe floor, cash games plays.

With NBA DFS, I can’t stress enough how important it is to not just plug-and-play these sample lineups. There is so much info that will drop over the course of the day for NBA, and you never truly know what to expect.

If you want to be a consistent winner for NBA, lock starts at 7PM ET on most week nights. Plan on being ready to tinker those lineups last second, accounting for all of that fabulous NBA news that nobody was expecting five minutes before, or even AFTER lock. It happens all of the time, so if you set your lineup now and forget it, it’s probably not going to work out for you in the long run.

LOS ANGELES, CA – JANUARY 09: Lonzo Ball #2 of the Los Angeles Lakers calls a play during the second half of a game against the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center on January 9, 2018 in Los Angeles, California.(Photo by Sean M. Haffey/Getty Images) /

PG – Lonzo Ball – Los Angeles Lakers – $6,800

On a short slate like this, the game of the night looks to be in Brooklyn, where the Nets will take on the Lakers. Los Angeles is favored by two at the moment, and this game has the second highest game total on the slate at 228. The big shootout on the slate looks to be in Atlanta where the Hawks will host the Wizards with a total of 235.5

While I like quite a bit from that game as well, a few of these Lakers are kind of under priced for the minutes they should play, and you will notice most of today’s targets will be from these two games. You also have to worry about the Wizards blowing out the Hawks as well, as unlikely as that sounds.

So Lonzo Ball huh? Can I really trust this guy in cash games? With five of his last seven games over 33 FDP I think the answer is yes you can. Ball has played 34-37 minutes in each of the last four games with Brandon Ingram out, and he will remain out the rest of the Lakers road trip. Rajon Rondo also remains out, and this remains a pretty thin Lakers rotation.

Two games ago in Charlotte, Ball notched his first triple-double of the season, and amassed 59 FDP. With limited options and John Wall way too expensive for my liking for cash games, Lonzo Ball is my top cash game point guard today. But that doesn’t make him a lock by any means. I can easily see paying $5k and below for both PG’s today.

***Also Consider: Collin Sexton $5,000 – Tomas Satoransky $4,700***

SG – Brad Beal – Washington Wizards – $8,300

Shooting guard is a position that you rarely will pay up for in cash games unless The Beard is on the slate, but on today’s short slate, Brad Beal certainly has some appeal. Hey that rhymes. Anyways, I am never a huge fan of rostering Beal in cash games, but this small slate kind of has our options limited.

I will say at $8,300, Beal feels too cheap against the Hawks, but he may have the toughest match-up of the Wizards starters as he should tangle with Kent Bazemore. Either way, Beal has been fairly consistent as of late, and he had a huge game last time these teams met.

John Wall missed that last meeting, and that set up a huge game for Beal. He scored 36 points and dished out nine assists in Wall’s absence, and posted a solid 56.7 FDP. Wall is coming off a huge game and will likely be more popular, but from a point-per-dollar standpoint, I think Beal is the better play tonight.

***Also Consider: Jordan Clarkson $5,400 – Torrey Craig $4,200***

SF – LeBron James – Los Angeles Lakers – $11,500

Usually on a slate of less than five games like we have tonight, the first thing I will do is assess the top studs, and figure out which one has the safest floor for cash games. It is really all about roster construction for NBA, and when you look at this position, I am not sure how you fade The King today.

Brooklyn is pretty competitive, especially at home, so I don’t see this game blowing out. In fact, there would have been some Nets in this article if they didn’t get such a huge salary bump. That is neither here nor there however. I am mostly going to stay away from the Nets side of the ball, and focus more on the Lakers and their tight rotations.

James was quite the letdown last game at Washington, as John Wall took that game over and LeBron struggled with his shot. He went just 5-16 from the floor, and had is worst FDP game of the season with just 23.7 FDP. I think he bounces back here, and has a huge game tonight.

***Also Consider: Jeff Green $5,300 – Lance Stephenson $4,300***

PF – John Collins – Atlanta Hawks – $8,200

By now we have covered the fact that this is a pretty limited slate, and I hate this price on Collins here, but he looks like the right play. The Hawks / Wizards game will likely be nuts, and I wan’t some Hawks exposure. With the highest total on the slate, it would be smart to roster some players from this game for your cash games, and Collins is looking like the right Hawk.

Trae Young‘s price came down a bit, and he has been a little better since Collins returned, but it appears Collins is still the top scoring option for this team. He has played 14 games now, and is averaging 18.5 PPG and 9.3 RPG. Last time out, he posted a solid 29 point effort against the Nets, in which he managed 41.6 FDP.

This is a tough position today, but I think paying up here is the way to go, unless we get some news to shake things up as the day goes on. When these teams met two weeks ago, Collins was solid with 26 points and 14 rebounds. I wish he was around $7,200, because he is really just a points and rebounds guy that won’t generate much FDP elsewhere, but again on the short slate, he may find himself in my cash lineup today.

***Also Consider: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson $5,600 – Markieff Morris $5,500***

C – Nikola Jokic – Denver Nuggets – $11,100

After King James, the next top player on the slate that needs your attention is the versatile Denver big-man Nikola Jokic. The Nuggets are banged up, and over the last four games, Jokic has stepped up and taken the reigns for this squad. In that span, The Joker is averaging 52.6 FDP, and he has scored at least 24 actual points in each of those as well.

The Nuggets will clash with Mavericks, who are also facing some injury dilemmas. The match-up will be a tough one for Mavs center DeAndre Jordan, who could have a tough time defending Jokic when he is outside. All in all, this should be a close game, and I think Jokic stays hot here.

***Also Consider: Thomas Bryant $4,600***
