NHL DFS Man Advantage Monday December 18th
By Matt Vecchio
Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Tuesday night December 18th! Tonight the NHL gives us a massive 11 game slate to sink our teeth into. Slates like this are so much fun to play, but can also be very difficult because there are so many options and ways to build your lineup. Hopefully I will be able to help you sift through all the games and lineups and get you on the right path for your lineup build.
NHL DFS Goalies:
My top NHL DFS goaltender is also the highest priced as well, Andrei Vasilevskiy ($8,400) takes on the Vancouver Canucks. While Vancouver has been hot of late, winning 5 of 6, they came against some of the leagues bottom dwellers like St. Louis and Philadelphia. Vasilevskiy comes into tonights game with a 10-3-2 record with an outstanding .928 SV% and a 2.38 GAA.
Two other goalies with winnable matchups I am interested in are Mikko Koskinen ($8,100) vs St Louis, and Connor Hellebuyck ($7,900) @ LA. Koskinen comes in winning 3 of his last 4 and comes into the game tonight with a 11-4-1 record and amazing 2.18 GAA and .928 SV%. Hellebuyck gets a road game against the league worst Kings. In his last 6 starts Hellebuyck is 5-1 with the only loss being a 1-0 shut out.
My low-priced goalie for tonight is Jimmy Howard ($7,400) against the Flyers. Howard and the Red Wings have been playing much better than expected this season and Howard is a big part of that. In his last 10 games Howard has a 2.68 GAA and a .925 SV%.
NHL DFS Top Players:
Top Tier:
Jack Eichel ($8,000) – Eichel is one of the leagues hottest players currently with 17 points in his last 10 games. Eichel is also averaging just under 5 SOG per game while playing over 20 minutes of TOI and averaging 7.2 FPPG. Besides Eichel, his line mates of Jeff Skinner and Sam Reinhart make for one of the better line stacks of the night.

Mark Scheifele ($7,700)- Speaking of one the leagues hottest players, Scheifele comes into tonight’s game in LA with 5 straight multi-point games. During his 5 game point streak Scheifele has 14 points ( 5 goals and 9 assists). Like Eichel as well Scheifele’s line mates are also in play (Nikolaj Ehlers and Blake Wheeler)
Mark Giordano ($6,800)- Giordano is the Flames #1 d-man and as such he sees over 24 minutes of TOI while playing on the Flames top d pair and top PP unit. Over his last 5 games Giordano has 11 points and is averaging 7.7 FPPG.
Mid Tier:
Mikael Granlund ($6,300) – During the Wild’s last 3 games Granlund has not scored a goal, but has 5 assists and is averaging 5 FPPG during that stretch. Granlund plays on Minnesota’s second line with Eric Staal and Jordan Greenway as well as playing on the team’s top PP unit.
Tomas Hertl ($5,600) – Hertl has 3 goals and 3 assists in the Sharks last 4 games while averaging 4.6 FPPG. San Jose is on fire currently, winning 4 straight and scoring 20 goals over those 4 games. Hertl has been an integral part of the San Jose offense and will continue to be throughout the season.
Brandon Montur ($5,000) – Montour has been playing his best hockey of the season of late with 2 goals and 4 assists in the Ducks last 5 games and is averaging 4.5 FPPG. Montour is the Ducks top defenseman with Kevin Bieksa and Cam Fowler on the IR and is playing over 25 minutes per game in the last 10.
Value Tier:
Colton Sissons ($4,400) – Sissons has been seeing his playing time increase in recent games. He has been playing over or just under 20 minutes per game while playing on the Preds 3rd line and on the top PP unit. Over the clubs last 6 games Sissons has 6 points (3 goals 3 assists)
Bryan Little ($3,800) – As long as Little stays so underpriced I will be considering him. Little centers the Jets second line with Patrik Laine and Kyle Connor as well as centering the second PP unit. Over the last 3 games Little has 3 assists and has 9 fantasy points
Zach Bogosian ($3,500) – Bogosian is not a big offensive threat but can put up fantasy numbers. Bogosian , like Sissons, has seen his minutes increase steadily over the past couple of weeks. Bogisian has played 24 minutes or more for Buffalo which is 3 mins our more than his season average.
Top Line Stacks:
Calgary 1
Toronto 1
Anaheim 3 – Great value!
Edmonton 1
NY Islanders 2
Tampa Bay 2
