FLEX: Elijah McGuire, New York Jets

The New York Jets know they aren’t making a playoff appearance this year so they are looking to give some younger players an opportunity to make a statement. One of those players is running back Elijah McGuire.

He has seen a solid number of carries over the past two weeks and has produced. McGuire has touchdown in each of those games while also topping 40 rushing yards.

These aren’t elite numbers, but his fanduel cost is extremely low for a starting running back who has gotten over 15 carries the last two weeks. This is great value at the FLEX spot and a chance for you to steal some points.

Backup Option: Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears

@ San Francisco 49ers, 4:05pm

Fanduel Cost: $7,000

Jordan Howard comes in at a higher cost than McGuire, but he is a more proven commodity. Howard’s play over the past three weeks has reestablished his fantasy value. The Chicago Bears are giving him more carries and allowing him to grind down the defense.

Chicago has already secured a playoff spot and are now just playing for a better seed. They aren’t going to take many chances or unleash too many creative plays. It’s likely they’ll just ride Howard to the end of the season.
