Lincoln Riley had little trouble bringing in elite talent as part of Oklahoma’s 2019 early signing day recruiting class, including a pair of five-stars.

The dominance shown by the Oklahoma football team has translated to an elite recruiting class that the Sooners celebrated on early signing day.

Lincoln Riley has picked up right where Bob Stoops left off with top recruiting classes coming to Norman, OK. With a pair of College Football Playoff appearances and a pair of Heisman-winning quarterbacks, it’s a pretty nice feather in his cap to use as a recruiting advantage compared to his counterparts.

As one might surmise, Oklahoma reeled in some highly ranked recruits to play in Riley’s high-octane attack. After seeing Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray lead the Oklahoma offensive attack, recruits envisioned themselves following in their footsteps.

Headlining the Oklahoma recruiting class are a pair of five-star recruits. 6-3, 202-pound receiver, Theo Wease comes from Allen, Texas and is the highest ranked recruit in the class. Wease is the nation’s No. 21 overall recruit, No. 3 receiver and the No. 3 recruit in the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Look for him to compete for immediate playing time as a freshman.

Also looking to compete for immediate playing time is fellow five-star Spencer Rattler from Phoenix, AZ who looks like a mixture between Mayfield and Murray. He’s not quite the electric runner that Murray is and he may be a touch more humble than Mayfield, but he could be the eighth Sooner to win a Heisman if Riley is able to bring out the most of his talents and he develops over the next four years.

Helping Rattler develop will be Wease and four-star signee Trejan Bridges, a 6-1, 184-pound receiver from Carrollton, TX. He ranks as the No. 59 overall recruit and No. 10 receiver. Even more weapons for Rattler to work with is four-star tight end Auston Stogner from Plano, TX. The 6-6, 235-pounder already has great size for the position but could add 20 pounds over the next few years and blossom into an NFL prospect. He ranks as the nation’s 72 overall recruit and the No. 3 tight end in the nation.

It’s not just offense that Oklahoma is bringing in as they have defensive ends Joseph Wete and Marcus Hicks, cornerbacks Woodi Washington and Jaden Davis and safety, Jamal Morris to provide some help on that side of the ball.

2019 Oklahoma recruiting class

Looking ahead to next year’s class, Oklahoma already has five commitments for a class that ranks No. 6 in the nation. Headlining the class is five-star running back Jase McClellan from Aledo, TX who is the No. 18 recruit and No. 3 running back, per 247Sports.
