NFL Fantasy Picks and Game Predictions for Saturday December 22nd
By John Fazio
Nothing better than Saturday football for some NFL Fantasy Picks. It’s important to separate ourselves from the majority of players on a 2 game slate so let’s concentrate on dark horse selections.
NFL Fantasy Picks – QB’s
Josh Johnson (Washington)
I like him so much better than Sanchez. Has the ability to run and throw which builds a good floor. Tennessee has a very tough defense and that will make him lesser owned.
Lamar Jackson (Baltimore)
He is averaging 5 fewer DK points per game than Rivers while being about the same cost and playing on the road. This selection may sound counter intuitive but we need to separate ourselves from the majority. There’s no guarantee Rivers will outperform Jackson again.
NFL Fantasy Picks – RB’s
Derrick Henry (Tennessee)
I believe clearly the best choice. Priced well below Gordon (SDG) he is the only lead RB of the 4 teams guaranteed to get a large portion of carries. Gordon is playing but not completely healthy while Jackson has looked good in his back-up role as Ekeler remains doubtful.
NFL Fantasy Picks – WR’s
Corey Davis (Tennessee)
Has been all or nothing for fantasy owners. Roster but not as a core play, as he has posted very high and very low scores. Toggle RB Henry and Davis for the best results.
Willie Snead (Baltimore)
Snead continues to post good numbers for such a low-cost and being 3rd on the depth chart. He’s getting 6-7 targets a game, catching 5, and if he finds the end zone he can get you 20 points.
NFL Fantasy Picks – TE’s
Jeremy Sprinkle (Washington)
I always advocate paying up for TE’s because sleepers are hard to find, but because of injuries this very low-priced TE is worth a roster. Reed is out, and IF Vernon Davis is also out Sprinkle will take the lead. Conversely if Davis is playing than roster Davis.
NFL Fantasy Picks – Defense (DST)
Washington
Most fantasy players are going to roster Tennessee here. Obviously. The Titans are at least a 10 point favorite with a 37 game total. I’m addressing those players wishing to place high in their GPP’s, not inch into the mini pay zone. Baltimore is also playable as a DST road dog.
