Barcelona vs. Celta Vigo live stream: Watch La Liga online
By Warren Pegg
Barcelona face Celta Vigo at the Camp Nou on Saturday, Dec. 22. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Although Barcelona’s attack has been functioning exceptionally, scoring an incredible 17 more goals than any other La Liga side to date, their back line hasn’t fared so well – they only have the eighth-best defensive record in Spain’s top flight. Injuries certainly haven’t helped in that regard. Thomas Vermaelen has suffered yet another, this time a calf tear, while Samuel Umtiti’s ongoing knee issues have seen him sidelined again.
As a result, Colombian center-back Jeison Murillo has now been brought from Valencia in an initial loan deal that can be made permanent during the summer. He’s only managed a single appearance for Valencia this season, though, so there’s uncertainty about the impact he’ll have.
Celta Vigo are currently part of that group of teams hovering around the midpoint of the La Liga standings. The table is very tightly packed, with just four points separating eighth from 16th, and Celta seem as well equipped as anyone to emerge from the pack. Their biggest strength is an excellent forward line, with both Iago Aspas and Maxi Gomez among La Liga’s top scorers this season.
