DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 22, 2018
High Value SF
Players costing $6,250 or under
Rudy Gay (at HOU – $6,200): Needs 28.9 fantasy points. Gay had 25.75 fantasy points in 19 minutes against the Timberwolves on Friday. As mentioned, earlier, I have to believe that the Spurs will play a close game at some point. And if they do have a close outing, Gay is going to hit big because he’s been playing very well during this stretch. Honestly, he’s been playing too well because the Spurs are dominating clubs. Diagnosis: Good ceiling if the game is close.
Jae Crowder (vs OKC – $5,200): Needs 24.2 fantasy points. Crowder was scoring on Friday but wasn’t doing much of anything else. He had 20.75 fantasy points against the Blazers. It’s a back-to-back, but I still like this matchup for him. He should play big minutes and contribute with more than just scoring. Diagnosis: Good ceiling, but inconsistent.
Gerald Green (vs SA – $3,700): Needs 17 fantasy points. This is all about the circumstances and a little about the matchup. Green typically plays well against the Spurs when given minutes. In games where he’s played 20 minutes or more against the Spurs, he’s averaging 26.2 fantasy points. The minutes should be there in this one as the Rockets will need his scoring with Paul out. He’s a low-cost option who could hit big. Diagnosis: Not reliable, but the matchup and circumstances are in his favor.
Quick Hits
OG Anunoby ($3,500): If he starts, he’s a good option given the minutes he’ll get and the team he’s on.
