The Golden State Warriors look to rebound from a tough loss when they play host to the slumping Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.

Before the season, the Golden State Warriors were looking like the runaway favorites to win it all. Now, they’re just trying to get their swagger back. After a hard loss to the Utah Jazz, the Warriors (21-11) will look to get their offense back on track when they play host to a Dallas Mavericks team who has seemingly slid back to earth.

After running off four straight victories, the Warriors are just 2-2 in their last four games, with their latest loss coming in Salt Lake City to the Jazz team that was looking for a big win to bolster their season. Stephen Curry led the way with 32 points and Kevin Durant chipped in 30 points for Golden State, but once again, they couldn’t overcome a poor defensive performance and poor shooting from Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.

On Saturday night, Golden State will open a four-game homestand that, in addition to the Mavericks (15-15), they’ll also play host to the Clippers, Lakers and Trail Blazers. Case in point, this is going to be an important homestand for Golden State as neither of these teams are under .500.

That could change for Dallas, who have hit a rough patch of late.

After climbing four games above .500 with a win over the Atlanta Hawks on Dec. 12, the Mavericks have picked a bad time to embark on a four-game losing streak. Three of those four losses have come on the road, where they’re just 2-12.

If the Mavericks expect to make the playoffs this season, their road play has to improve, and they will get the chance to gain some momentum outside of North Texas with a two-game trip that starts in Oakland and will end at the Portland Trail Blazers on Dec. 23.
