I finally lost a couple of picks over the week, but overall, I’m still doing pretty well.
For the rest of the bowls, you will get my picks against the spread and point wagers just like I did all season long. I had a solid regular season, but I can make it look a whole lot better with a strong bowl season!

Minnesota vs. Georgia Tech(-5.5) at Detroit, MI(1):
Minnesota 6-6, 3-6(t-5th Big 10(14) West):
Wins: vs. New Mexico State(48-10), vs. Fresno State(21-14), vs. Miami(OH)(26-3), vs. Indiana(38-31), vs. Purdue(41-10), at Wisconsin(37-15)
Losses: at Maryland(13-42), vs. Iowa(31-48), at Ohio State(14-30), at Nebraska(28-53), at Illinois(31-55), vs. Northwestern(14-24)
Record vs. bowl teams: 3-3
The lack of a consistent passing game kept the Gophers from doing anything meaningful with this season. The emergence of Mohamed Ibrahim helped the offense a lot down the stretch, but inconsistent quarterback play offset every big win with a bad loss.
Georgia Tech 7-5, 5-3 (2nd ACC Coastal)
Wins: vs. Alcorn State(41-0), vs. Bowling Green(63-17), at Louisville(66-31), at Virginia Tech(49-28), at North Carolina(38-28), vs. Miami(FL)(27-21), vs. Virginia(30-27)
Losses: at South Florida(38-49), at Pittsburgh(24-19), vs. Clemson(21-49), vs. Duke(14-28), at Georgia(21-45)
Record vs. bowl teams: 3-5
This is the option that most teams want to be like. Very few can run it with the efficiency that Georgia Tech can. The difference here is that TaQuon Marshall can throw a lot better than most options quarterbacks. Tobias Oliver is arguably a better runner, but he isn’t much of a threat to throw the ball. We will likely see both quarterbacks at some point in this game.
Prediction:
Minnesota is capable of really good things when they are playing well. The only thing is we never know what we are getting with Minnesota. That makes this game nearly impossible to pick. I will say this: I like Georgia Tech anyway to send Paul Johnson out with a win, but 5.5 points to an option team may as well be two touchdowns. The safe bet is to go with Minnesota and the points. There is a very good chance that Georgia Tech only wins by a field goal.
Pick: Minnesota
